Overview

**This position is physically located in Iraq in support of LOGCAP**

  • Under supervision of the Waste Management Supervisor, the Waste-Water Plant Supervisor Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating and maintaining equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment and disposal facility: Directs activities of workers in power generating, grit removal, pump and blower, and Biofilm/Sludge filtration departments. Test influent and effluent sewage/wastewater at the plant to prevent effluent contamination from wastewater system, using chemicals and testing equipment.

  • Responsible for the planning, operations, management, distribution, and daily supervision of wastewater treatment activities at the assigned site.
  • Works on wastewater disposal related solutions exercising independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining LOGCAP Program results
  • Inspects equipment, for example pumps, sediment tanks, filters, retention ponds, laboratory equipment, Biofilm/Sludge bags or tanks and chlorinators to detect malfunctions.
  • Confers with engineering personnel and directs workers in repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Performs Job Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    • High school graduate or equivalent.
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or technical field preferred. Must provide a copy of the diploma or college transcripts.
    • Must be able to obtain a CAC.
    • Must be able to obtain a Driver’s License.
    • Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbally.
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination:

    • To be qualified for this position you must comply with USCENTCOM MOD 16 that requires proof that you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, as defined by the CDC or host country requirements. As of now, to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 you must have received either two doses of Pfizer BioNTech Vaccine, two doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford Vaccine, two doses of Moderna Vaccine, or one dose of Johnson & Johnson Vaccine, and two weeks must have elapsed after the final dose was administered. This definition may change in accordance with CDC guidelines. Compliance with this government requirement is an essential function of the position and is a condition of employment.

  • Certifications:
    • Apprenticeship or technical certificate in Wastewater/Lagoon Systems and Water Treatment.
  • Experience:
    • Seven (7) years of related experience with at least three-year supervisory experience in the management of personnel.
    • Experience with municipal Waste-Water Treatment/Lagoon Systems, as well as some knowledge of Water Distribution systems is a plus.
    • Previous experience in a contingency environment is a plus.
    • Technical certificate in Wastewater Treatment Facility and Lagoon Systems or at least 2-year Apprenticeship.
  • Skills:
    • Able to find waste-water production related solutions exercising independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining LOGCAP Program results in concert with and at the direction of the Task Order Manager.
    • Able to plan, organize direct and control the Black/Gray Waste-Water Collection Routes production, Wastewater Systems and collection activities on the program.
    • Able to plan, organize direct and control the wastewater/lagoon systems, some potable, and non-potable water production activities that is associated within the wastewater program.
  • Supervisory Skills:
    • The Waste-Water Treatment Supervisor has – responsibility and authority of the wastewater treatment plant and some potable and non-potable related activities on the assigned contract that associated with the wastewater system and wastewater collections.
