<strong>Our partner is looking for a senior role VP – Container Shipping<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong>Work with CEO to create Container Shipping department strategies, goals, and programs.<br><br>Develop a strong input operations strategy, encompassing routes, ports of call, timetables, assets, network, services, linkage to other operating units, and geographical coverage (local, regional, etc.).<br><br>Create and implement a capacity management strategy to determine overall capacity, unit size, and number.<br><br>Review and manage port, draft, LOA, and other external constraints on fleet units and capacity.<br><br>Coordinate and communicate with different company departments, such as Customer Solutions, Bulk Shipping, Logistics, Shipping Agencies, etc., to maximize synergies and help customers establish one-stop logistic solutions.<br><br>Manage annual estimated budgets<br><br>Develop monitoring systems with Customer Solutions to improve customer relations.<br><br>Manage container fleet strategy, determine total container population (owned vs. rented containers), and monitor production trends and expenses.<br><br>Manage container shipping operations, including berthing, handling, port stay, port delays, productivity, etc.<br><br>Oversee loading and discharging plans in compliance with policies and procedures and follow-up on stowage plans with ship leadership.<br><br>Negotiate and manage Container Shipping services, consultants, clients, and programs.<br><br>Recommend new Container Shipping employees and ensure all resources are available to complete assignments and activities.<br><br>Supervise Container Shipping staff, assign work, monitor performance, and review results. Coach subordinates, identify training and career development needs, recommend training courses, and follow-up on personnel records like timesheets, discipline, vacations, leaves, and absenteeism.<br><br>Maintain compliance with legal, regulatory, and other norms and regulations.<br><br>Ensure operations/work processes meet all legal, regulatory, and other norms and regulations at the highest level.<br><br>Protect the environment and employee health at all sites/work locations under their authority.<br><br>Help other BUs<br><br><strong>Requirements<br><br></strong>Bachelors degree required. <br><br>Master of Economics, Management, Shipping, Marine Engineer, or Business Administration recommended.<br><br>10-15 years in container shipping is preferred.<br><br>10-15 years of leadership is ideal.<br><br>ERP/MS Office expert<br><br>Business-fluent English<br><br>Marine experience<br><br>Maritime Law, international transportation, logistics, supply chain dynamics, and practices should be understood.</strong>
