Vessel Operator – Tanker / Break bulk / Bulk
Job Description
This position will be responsible for a complete port call – from appointment until FDA settlement, with assistance from Port ops Team , Accounts department for invoicing. Some of the job responsibilities are as follows:
• Close coordination with Principals and vessels, understanding their requirements and making appropriate arrangements with various parties.
• Appointment review, registration of vessel with authorities and updating vessel’s estimated time of arrival, berthing, completion, departure and changes to such timings.
• Complete coordination with Master, terminal, shippers and customer regarding the status of the vessel and the goods.
• Liaise with the Port team/boarding team to ensure completion of pre-arrival formalities.
• The role of Port Operations and Longstanding Supervisor is to ensure close communication and follow up with customs authority ,Ports and Terminals on old containers siting at the ports.
• Responsible to ensure crew handling is arranged as per company’s standards and customers’ expectations.
• Ensure the handling of Cash-in-transit (Cash to Master) is in accordance with company’s policies and procedures.
• Ensure documents are processed correctly, completely and submitted in time – Look into all documentation part of the vessel such as initial manifest, Bill of lading, final manifest, original bill of lading.
• Perform disbursement function: Ensure documents are processed correctly, completely and submitted in time and correct agency fee/rates are applied as per existing contracts, approved by HUB or as per previous calls.
• Port information’s / restrictions: Collect all information such as berth details, terminal restrictions and provide to the customer while submitting the proforma.
• Prefunding of port call: Once PDA is submitted, ensure 100% prefunding is received prior to vessels arrival. Need to check with finance on daily basis for confirmation on receipt of funds.
• Experience in handling Tankers / Dry Bulk /Break bulk / Navy vessels/ Cable ships / Marine crafts / Yacht / Cruise vessels.
• Aware of all MAWANI port regulations and Tariff
• Aware of all customs regulations (FASAH /TABADUL)
