This is where you can do your best work.<br><br>Join us at the intersection of saving and sustaining lives—where your purpose accelerates our mission.<br><br><strong><span>Summary <br><br></span></strong>The role is part of Baxter’s Global Category Management Organization and reports to the Director, Procurement Innovation systems.<br><br>The Materials Value Improvement Program (VIP) project manager is responsible for ensuring implementation of material cost-saving opportunities within the specific GBU they represent. This includes executing procurement strategies that achieve the company’s cost-reduction objectives, and developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal product groups and business stakeholders including but not limited to R&amp;D, Engineering, and Manufacturing<br><br>The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of procurement practices, possess excellent negotiation and influencing skills, and have a track record of successfully driving cost-reduction initiatives. Additionally, the VIP project manager should have excellent project management skills, as they will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving initiatives.<br><br>In this position you will support the execution of Procurement VIP (Value Improvement Project) projects by coordinating resources from Category, Engineering, R&amp;D, Quality, Manufacturing, RA etc. and manage the project timeline and resources to achieve business goals.<br><br><strong><span>What will you be doing?<br></span></strong><ul><li>Executing procurement strategies to achieve cost-reduction objectives<br></li><li>Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and ethics in procurement standards<br></li><li>Developing and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders<br></li><li>Managing procurement reporting to track cost savings pipeline and project performance metrics<br></li><li>Filtering VIP projects through prioritization process<br></li><li>Supporting development of cost savings estimates and feasibility potential for VIPs in Initial and Concept phases<br></li><li>Supporting VIP financial business case development to determine cross functional resource and budget requirements<br></li><li>Ensuring vendor readiness for project execution<br></li><li>Working closely with cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving initiatives<br></li><li>Escalating bottlenecks/roadblocks that cannot be resolved without Procurement leadership support.<br></li><li>Managing end to end VIP (Value Improvement Project) project of processes and improvements.<br></li><li>Acting as a project support to coordinate suppliers, manufacturing, engineering, PDO, R&amp;D, QA and RA etc. to ensure the projects can be delivered on time and on target.<br></li><li>Initiating projects that eliminate non-value-added activities, increase quality and service, and reduce costs. Closely monitoring commodity market trends and taking advantage of cost reduction, quality improvement and service improvement opportunities.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong><span>Who are we looking for?<br></span></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field<br></li><li>5+ years of procurement experience, including experience in a cost-savings role<br></li><li>Excellent negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to drive cost-reduction while maintaining quality and service levels<br></li><li>Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams<br></li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders<br></li><li>Analytical, data-driven approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities<br></li><li>Fluent English speaker<br></li><li>Strong project thinker with planning and organizational skills having hands-on experience implementing Lean Thinking, Lean Tools and Kaizen events to drive Lean improvements in the execution phase.<br></li><li>Team player experienced in effective root cause problem solving able to quickly gain credibility and gain traction with both stakeholders and suppliers.<br></li><li>Individual with influencing, consultative and initiative capability, negotiation, conflict resolution, presentation skills, facilitation, leadership and effective communication skills,<br></li><li>Someone with strong personal accountability for results and integrity, eagerness to learn and continuously improve.
