Job Description
<strong>Role objective:</strong><p><br></p>Lead market design and utilities market design and system requirements and creating a Centre of excellence in hydrogen development.<p><br></p><strong>Job Responsibilities:</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Lead Hydroms projects integration into Oman’s markets (electricity, H2, water, derivatives, etc.) </li><li>Maintain a repository of technical reports, proposals and assessments of potential developers.</li><li>Review prospective solar and wind project designs and development strategies to identify potential risks and value. </li><li>Define project constraints and buildable area considering existing infrastructure, topography, hydrology and subsurface ground conditions. </li><li>Provide a methodology for ranking projects on technical merits. </li><li>Evaluate project proposals and report on issues identified to enable timely resolution. </li><li>Estimate project annual energy production, energy uncertainty, energy probability values and time-based production profiles.</li><li>Establish construction, connection or installation specifications and guidelines, ensuring compliance with regulatory framework. </li><li>Review regulatory framework (Sector law) and identify, flag and address regulatory constraints. </li><li>Assist in the preparation of tendering documentation (RFPs). </li><li>Participate in the technical evaluation of bidder submissions.</li><li>Support the project managers and project electrical engineering team during various project phases. </li><li>Assist with other tasks in the organization during its startup stage.<br></li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Qualifications:</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Degree in electrical engineering, economics, or related field.</li><li>Proficient in different market design architectures including Oman, Europe and the US.</li><li>Knowledge of applicable codes related to national grids.</li><li>Experience in the renewable energy industry and gH2. </li><li>Ability to multi-task and support multiple projects at a time.</li><li>Site and corridor selection.</li><li>Knowledge of energy project economics.<br></li></ul>
