<p>Position Overview:</p><p><br></p><p>As an Urban Planner, you will be responsible for developing and implementing plans for the sustainable development of urban areas and cities. You will work closely with government agencies, architects, engineers, and community stakeholders to create livable and vibrant communities that align with local, regional, and national goals.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ol><li>Research and Analysis:</li></ol><ul><li>Conduct research and data analysis to understand existing land use patterns, demographics, infrastructure, and environmental factors.</li><li>Evaluate population growth projections, transportation systems, and economic trends to inform planning decisions.</li></ul><ol><li>Plan Development and Design:</li></ol><ul><li>Develop comprehensive urban plans that encompass land use, transportation networks, public spaces, and infrastructure development.</li><li>Consider zoning regulations, building codes, and cultural aspects to create functional and aesthetically pleasing urban environments.</li></ul><ol><li>Community Engagement:</li></ol><ul><li>Engage with local communities, residents, and stakeholders to gather input and incorporate their perspectives into the planning process.</li><li>Conduct public meetings, workshops, and consultations to ensure inclusivity and address community concerns.</li></ul><ol><li>Policy and Regulation:</li></ol><ul><li>Assist in the development of land use policies, regulations, and guidelines to guide urban development.</li><li>Collaborate with government agencies and other professionals to ensure alignment with local and national development strategies.</li></ul><ol><li>Sustainable Development:</li></ol><ul><li>Integrate principles of sustainability and resilience into urban plans, considering environmental conservation, energy efficiency, and climate change adaptation.</li><li>Promote walkability, bikeability, and access to public transportation to reduce carbon footprint and enhance quality of life.</li></ul><ol><li>Project Implementation and Monitoring:</li></ol><ul><li>Oversee the implementation of urban plans, coordinating with architects, engineers, and developers to ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards.</li><li>Monitor and evaluate ongoing projects, making necessary adjustments to ensure successful outcomes.</li></ul><ol><li>Research and Professional Development:</li></ol><ul><li>Stay updated on emerging trends, innovative urban planning approaches, and best practices.</li><li>Conduct research, attend conferences, and participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.</li></ul><li><br></li><p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field.</li><li>Proven experience in urban planning and design, preferably in the UAE or Gulf region.</li><li>Strong knowledge of urban planning principles, land use regulations, and sustainability concepts.</li><li>Proficiency in GIS (Geographic Information System) and other relevant planning software.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and community engagement.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.</li></ul><p><br></p>
