Testing and Balancing Specialist ( Installation Integrity 2006 )
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, using specialized instruments and testing equipment to meet functional and performance standards (NEBB).
- Inspect systems to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and equipment operating requirements.
- Diagnoses, adjusts, tests, and balances system components to achieve optimal system performance.
- Investigates system malfunctions and operation deficiencies to determine the source of the issue and resolve it.
- Ensures HVAC systems are installed properly and adjusted to meet design specifications.
- Reads and interprets system drawings, specifications, and performance data to determine the proper configuration and arrangement of system components.
- Prepare take-offs and site reports.
- Reply to projects sites team inquiries and questions related to the projects, including projects consultants.
- Maintaining proper documentation of daily work using work orders and reports outlining all testing and balancing work performed.
- Test airflow volume and velocity, static pressure and uniformity testing, differential pressurization testing, airflow visualization, and performing leakage tests.
Skills
Educational Level
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Relevant Technical Training
Experience
- 2 years plus
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent Project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Knowledge of international practices of Testing and Balancing.
- Computer literate and good communication in the English language.
