Technician – Radiology & Imaging Sciences – Medinova Diagnostic Centre
Key Duties:
Performing unsupervised diagnostic X-ray examinations (including mobile ward and OR), routine MRI examinations, routine CT examinations, Mammography and ESWL. Performing limited MRI & CT examinations with supervision. Assisting in angiography and other diagnostic or interventional procedures as required.
Main Responsibilities;
– Performs safe and competent radiology examination utilizing established NSH standards of practice and care.
– Adheres to all radiation and MRI safety guidelines.
– Follows established safety protocols with regard to contrast administration.
– Documents and archives examination data as required.
– Participates in quality assurance activities of equipment and film processing equipment on a regular basis.
– Reports and documents any equipment malfunction to the chief radiographer and appropriate service provider.
– Ensures efficient and economic use of all diagnostic equipment and consumables. Maintains stock levels of consumables.
– Performs all other duties as required or assigned by the Chief Radiographer
– Follows all established policies and procedures at MCH.
– Liaises with the registration and patient billing department.
– Understands and demonstrates accountability for one’s actions.
– Demonstrates good communication skills. Interacts effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team, patients, relatives and visitors.
– Seeks advice from supervisors or other resources if not sure of appropriate action to take.
– Performs certain specialized procedures when certified, e.g. venepuncture, etc.
– Performs all duties in a professional, effective and confidential manner.
– Serves on various committees when assigned.
– Assists in the orientation of new staff.
– Attends staff meetings on a regular basis.
– Promotes an atmosphere that is conducive to professional learning.
– Acts as a role model.
– Continually evaluates and updates professional practice.
– Promotes the radiography profession in a positive manner.
– Shall operate and use various imaging equipment to perform patient testing, including
* GENERAL RADIOLOGY
* CT
* MRI
* UltraSound
– Shall practice radiation safety protocols at all times
– Shall keep records of maintenance of equipment
– Shall perform quality control on imaging machines and keep records
