Overview & Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Under the supervision of the Global Technical Trainer Field Service, the purpose of this position is to provide a central and consistent focus for Internal training programs and occasionally to Customers. The Regional Technical Trainer is responsible for the training structure of the Elliott employees in the Region and has to decide on the most effective approach with his Supervisor and the Regional Field Service Manager. The person, with his peers, must develop and provide technical Training across diverse products (Turbine, Compressor, Pumps (Cryo, custom, etc)) and other rotating equipment. Responsible for managing the regional training facilities, competency management, know-how transfer and process improvements.
BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education & experience.

Requires a comprehensive knowledge of global turbo machinery/rotating equipment application, installation, operation and overhaul methods and techniques

Experience in quality management system (QMS), technical training, warranty, and Root Cause Analysis experience is preferred.

Knowledge of chemical, petro chemical, general industrial and power generation industry is preferred.

Understanding of Elliott and non-Elliott products.

Experience in developing and creating training programs required.

Strong communications skills, both verbal and written , and ability to comprehend and present detailed technical solutions internally and externally.

Has good organisational skills, can think creatively, and independently.

Extensive computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Primavera and Oracle.
NATURE OF THE JOB

Primary role is that of decision-making, leadership, guidance, and supervision.

Technical leadership and versatility are a requirement, as well as an ability to leverage Elliott corporate technical capabilities to achieve project goals. Position requires a broad technical breadth, as well detailed equipment knowledge involving both Elliott and Non-Elliott manufactured products, Field Service processes (Installation and commissioning, Overhaul, trouble shooting…) and ability to quickly analyse and address complex technical problems associated with Field Service. It has both strategic and daily hands-on aspects.

Under the responsibility of the Global Technical Training Manager, assist in the standardization of processes and material for FS as it relates to the Competency Management System, best practices and training.

Auditing of Regional Field Service work processes to identify areas for training improvements and efficiency enhancements .

Travel is required and expected to be 50% of the time.
SUPERVISION
Internal: All Regional Field Service teams. JNT and EETC Technical Services, Materials, Quality, EHS, and Engineering. Frequent contact with the other Regional Technical Trainers FS.
The position works in a matrix organization with the Sub-Regional FS Managers
This position is primarily an individual contributor with no direct supervisory responsibilities
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES
Delivers Academic and Hands-on technical training for all Elliott and non-Elliott products as they related to Field Service operations and processes.
Using technical expertise to continually update the training material for improvements or changes in product lines: presentations and manuals for all Elliott and non-Elliott products.
Internally works with the FS Managers and reviews Service Engineering Bulletins to determine technical training needs.
Helps design new training courses and change existing ones for enhanced learning opportunities.
Evaluates, justifies, and orders new models to assist in the training programs.
Responsible for all training assets – models, manuals, material (promos) and responsible for the regular operation of the training facility within the Region.
Utilizes the CMS to identify training needs and update training records for Machinery Specialist and Field Service Representatives.
Responsible to maintain and keep up to date the training documentation for employees within region.
Perform regular audits of the CMS and conducts onsite job assessments to identify gaps in knowledge and training needs.
