Mission
PTS (PowerTrain Systems) is Valeo powertrain business group working on providing smart solutions for hybrid and electric vehicles
PTS Cairo (in VITE) is mainly focusing on providing full software solutions (architecture, design, development and testing) according to different automotive / Valeo standards and now expanding in systems, software, functional safety and cybersecurity engineering.
PSD (Powertrain Systems Driveline) is a Valeo product group (part of PTS business group) and it is specialized in the sector of development and production of key components in the context of transmission systems for conventional, hybrid, and electric mobility like, eDrives, Smart Oil pumps, Smart transmission actuators (Clutch Actuators, Gear-Shifting, Park Lock Actuator) and other products.
Responsibilities
The System Functional Safety Engineer is responsible for assisting and ensuring that design and development of Valeo products is carried out in accordance with the Valeo Functional Safety methodology (in-line with ISO26262)
- Analyze and evaluate stakeholders Automotive safety related requirements (including OEMs project compliance matrices)
- Support the definition of HARA, functional safety concept with the alignment of customer specifications (only if needed).
- Develop and support the definition of functional safety concepts during the quotation phase and at projects kick-off.
- Develop of technical safety requirements at system architectural design level.
- Support the safety analysis (FTA, FMEA, FMEDA, DFA, ..etc) on the product system level for mechanical, hardware and software.
- Prepare safety cases for powertrain projects including the proper justification
- Support in process definitions & quality control activities in compliance of ISO26262.
- Support in the definition of safety activities planning for the powertrain products.
Qualifications – External
Education/Training
Bachelor degree in Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or Aerospace & Aeronautical Engineering.
Professional Experience
From 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
Languages
Excellent command of English language is a must.
Requirements
- +2 Years of experience in system / software engineering
- Experience in safety products with ASIL-A to ASIL-D.
- Certified in ISO26262 Functional Safety from TUV Rheinland is highly appreciated
- Good knowledge in electronics circuits and measurement circuits.
- Good knowledge in sensors acquisition (magnetic sensors, pressure sensors)
- Good knowledge about Automotive SPICE (A-SPICE)
- Knowledge in electric machines (DC, BLDC and PMSM & valves) and their control theories.
- Knowledge in electromechanical and hydraulic actuators.
- Knowledge in MATLAB / Simulink / Stateflow & physical modeling is a plus
- Awareness of AURIX and ARM based microcontrollers is a plus.
- Knowledge in SysML/UML using Enterprise Architect or similar tool is appreciated.
- Knowledge in IBM DOORS & is highly appreciated.
