Job Description

Responsible for the preparation, maintenance, repair, and condition monitoring of all rolling mill stand cassettes as well as its accessories.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures compliance to documented ISO-9001 and 14001 &OHSAS 18001 requirements.

Ensures compliance with safe working practice on the shop floor and executing all industrial safety rules according to company rules so that no damage occurs to man and machines.

Ensures compliance with all company regulations.

Follows instructions of Supervisor and carry out work as per his directives.

Transferring of used stand to the assembly area.

Disassembles stand on the roll changing device.

Inspection of overall stand condition especially backlash (chock and shoulder) and record the remaining passes available to the roll.

 Inspection of roll neck and Bearing sleeves, if worn out or damage and take corrective measures. Records must be maintained in this regard.

Cleans and returns used rolls to designated area and transfers rolls for machining to Machine shop area.

Cleans and inspects all the different parts of the roll stand, if broken or damaged part had been identified make necessary replacement or repair.

Inspects lubrication points and hydraulic oil levels and replenish supply as needed.

Greasing of chock bearings.

Assembles stand on the roll changing device.

Aligns entry and delivery guides to pass center.
