The company was founded on May 29, 1933 and is headquartered in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.</p> <p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p> <p>We are seeking a Sr Operations Engineer to join SAMREF Max Chemicals (SMC) Division of the LTC Business & Project Development Department to perform optimization of refinery- chemicals integration, selection of steam cracker and C4+ co-products process licensors ensuring safety and environmental compliance. The Division is primarily responsible for SMC Project Development under This Company In- Kingdom Liquids to Chemicals Program (IK LTC) and drive the development of project assessment, and the delivery of project requirements through FEL I, FEL II and FEL III. SMC capital program is a refinery residue upgrade integrated with petrochemical steam cracker complex to be built in Yanbu, western region of Saudi Arabia. It is a part of This Company In-Kingdom Liquids To Chemicals (IK LTC) program which includes similar projects to be developed at the same time. Sr. Operations Engineer will be part of the Project Development & Technology team reporting to the Manager and work closely with other refinery and chemical engineers.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Evaluate and screen a range of technology options to determine the Baseline Configuration.</li> <li>Determine the level of detail required and identify sources for technology input for LP, operational expenditure (opex), and major considerations for the facilities scope.</li> <li>Develop a Process technology roadmap and establish a timeline for engaging with technology licensors/providers.</li> <li>Develop plans and deliverables for Pre-FEED/FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) related to facility design basis.</li> <li>Lead the evaluation and screening process for technology options.</li> <li>Review and analyze details and inputs for technology options and outputs from the LP model, including process yields, qualities, and opex.</li> <li>Provide technical inputs and recommendations on the selected technologies and conduct sensitivity analyses.</li> <li>Identify third-party opportunities and liaise with vendors/suppliers to gather relevant information.</li> <li>Support the Government Engagement workstream and GHG Abatement Readiness workstream by developing technical documents, assessing technologies, and promoting capital efficiency.</li><br></ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized and approved program</li> <li>Minimum of 20+ years of experience in the Refining & Chemicals business with a focus on integration</li> <li>Previous experience in Project Engineering, Design, and Execution for chemicals plants</li> <li>Refinery-Chemicals integration management experience</li> <li>Refinery operation experience</li> <li>Steam cracker and C4+ co-products process licensor selection & technology analysis experience</li> <li>Strong understanding of chemical process yields & qualities, operational expenses (opex)</li> <li>Knowledge of economics & capital efficiency in the industry</li> <li>Experience in developing chemicals facility scope basis</li> <li>Refinery or chemicals capital project development experience, particularly in Pre-FEED/FEED stages</li> <li>Understanding of molecule optimization and synergy integration</li></ul>
