We are seeking a SQL Developer to join our client’s Data Infrastructure and Engineering team.

The responsibility. 

As a SQL Developer, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and developing high quality database solutions ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance
• Developing database schemas, tables and dictionaries
• Creating complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development.
• Analysing and optimising existing views, functions and stored procedures
• Writing efficient well-optimised SQL queries for integration with other applications
• Develop best practices for database design and development activities.

Part of your technical capabilities you should have:

• A solid development background working in an agile environment
• Expert knowledge of T-SQL or PL/SQL and performance tuning techniques including examining Extended Events/Profiler, Execution Plans and Indexing
• A good working knowledge of RDBMS built-in technologies suchas Oracle’s DBMS packages or SQL Server’s built in T-SQL Functions
• Expert knowledge of SQL
• Database design & implementation skills
• Experience of utilising stored procedures written in T-SQL or PL/SQL
• Previous experience working with Microsoft SQL-Server (Versions 2012 onwards) or Oracle (12c onwards)
• An understanding of security and permissions best practices
• A working knowledge of ETL best practices and other large data movements
• Experience debugging database related problems.
• Understand logical and physical database design principles.
• Desirable – SSRS, SSAS OR SSIS
• Desirable – Azure, AWS or any Cloud based technologies
