Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Spare Parts Manager to oversee the spare parts department of our organization. As a Spare Parts Manager, you will be responsible for managing inventory, optimizing stock levels, and ensuring timely availability of spare parts to support our customers’ needs. Your primary objective will be to maintain efficient spare parts management processes, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive profitability through effective inventory control.Β
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement spare parts management strategies and procedures to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and ensure timely availability of spare parts.
- Monitor and analyze spare parts demand and usage patterns to forecast future requirements and plan procurement activities accordingly.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms for spare parts procurement.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of spare parts inventory to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with established standards.
- Maintain accurate records of spare parts transactions, including receipts, issuances, returns, and adjustments.
- Coordinate with internal departments to understand spare parts requirements and prioritize orders to meet customer needs and minimize vehicles downtime.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure the availability of high-quality spare parts and efficient order fulfillment.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure spare parts inventory accuracy, turnover, and cost-effectiveness.
- Analyze and optimize the layout and organization of the spare parts storage area for efficient storage and retrieval.
- Identify obsolete or slow-moving spare parts and develop strategies to manage them effectively, including liquidation or return to suppliers.
- Collaborate with the service department to ensure timely and accurate installation and replacement of spare parts during vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and technological developments related to spare parts management and incorporate best practices into the organization’s processes.
Skills
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in the same field, with at least 2 years of experience in the same position.
- University degree in the same field or equivalent.
- Excellent managerial and leadership skills to effectively oversee spare parts operations and lead a team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve spare parts management issues and optimize inventory levels.
- Ethical mindset with a commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and integrity.
- In-depth knowledge of spare parts management principles, including inventory control, procurement, and logistics.
- Familiarity with spare parts cataloging systems and inventory management software.
- Experience in supplier management, including negotiation, performance evaluation, and relationship building.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards related to spare parts management.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to use relevant software and tools.
