Rixos Qetaifan Island North
Opening in 2023, Rixos Qetaifan Island North will comprise a 345-key hotel, along with a souq encompassing 11,000sqm of leasing space, a beach club, a theme park, and a waterpark. The resort will boast panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination. One of the country’s biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North’s Waterpark attraction. The Icon Tower is the world’s highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres.
Sommelier
This position is responsible for the control of the hotel’s wine dispensary, maintenance of stock levels, maximize revenue and ensure high quality guest service. The Sommelier will manage contractual agreements and maintain relationships with key suppliers. In addition, he/she will also assist guests with wine and beverage pairing to complement menu.

What you will be doing:
– Assist guests with their choice of wine and beverage pairing to complement menu selection and take the appropriate orders.
– Up-sell and promote food and beverage offers at every available opportunity.
– Organize, supervise and assist with the service of beverages.
– Attend daily F&B meetings and monthly staff meetings to discuss wine updates.
– Ensure correct handling, storage and cleaning of all liquor service equipment.
– Ensure that a tight control is kept on all stock used.
– Maintain par levels for wine stock, supplies and equipment. Complete requisitions to replenish shortages or additional items needed for the anticipated business. Ensure wine orders are received correctly, properly stored/recorded and kept secured.
– Inspect quality of opened wine in F&B Outlets regularly.
– Check wine storage areas for proper supplies, organization and cleanliness. Rectify any cleanliness/organization deficiencies.
– Work with suppliers and purchasing department to obtain best priced products.
