<strong>General responsibilities of the Site Engineer include the support of quality of WASH planning, in-site implementation and follow-up of all technical activities being implemented by PIN. Specifically, the main activities include working on supervising construction/rehabilitation of latrines, installation of water points, well rehabilitation and water storage.</strong><p><br></p><strong>Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p>Work with local government institutions, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and local communities to ensure the efficient execution of WASH infrastructure activities;<p><br></p>Follow up the implementing activities in-field and oversee community mobilization and engagement efforts to describe and explain the projects overall objectives and activities and collect feedback;<p><br></p>Work with the WASH Engineer to mobilize the communities and community leaders regarding the management and use of sanitation tools, materials and construction items;<p><br></p>Participate in baseline assessments of community WASH infrastructure, including at schools, health facilities, and public water points;<p><br></p>Report all gender and protection related concerns to the WASH Engineer or the gender focal persons;<p><br></p>Suggest any amendments to BoQs/works if necessary;<p><br></p>Inform the management immediately if any obstacles may lead to delay of the implementation;<p><br></p>Submit progress reports in weekly basis as well as end of assignment report;<p><br></p>Support the WASH Engineer to conduct technical assessments of selected WASH infrastructure identified for rehabilitation;<p><br></p>Assist the WASH Engineer in preparing construction monitoring mechanisms, and subsequently supervising contracted works to ensure compliance with technical requirements and schedules;<p><br></p>Monitor ongoing projects and prepare for handover of completed works to communities and local authorities;<p><br></p>Facilitate water-testing activities to ensure water quality improvements and sustainability over time;<p><br></p>Liaise with Community Water Management Committees (CWMCs) in areas where WASH infrastructure is being rehabilitated to help ensure local ownership and assist in developing sustainable mechanisms for operations and maintenance;<p><br></p>Ensure compliance with World Health Organization (WHO) standards, PIN policies and procedures, and other best practices in WASH, while maintaining culturally literate and sensitive approaches;<p><br></p>Carry out any other tasks required to complete relevant project-related objectives.<p><br></p><strong>Requirements</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Minimum Bachelor Degree or equivalent;</li><li>At least 1 year of direct experience in WASH projects;</li><li>Good skills and experience with MS Office and internet usage;</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills;</li><li>Living in or from targeted governorates;</li><li>Able to make strong relations with community and key stakeholders;</li><li>Ethical, trustworthy, creative, dynamic, and enthusiastic;</li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;</li><li>INGO experience preferred.</li></ul>
