Near East Foundation<br><br>Job Announcement<br><br>Title: Siraj Officer<br><br>Reports to: Business Development Officer<br><br>Location: Amman, Jordan<br><br>Travel: Yes, 50% of time<br><br>The Near East Foundation (NEF) is seeking candidates for a Siraj Officer to be based in Amman, Jordan. NEF is a non-profit international development organization that has supported livelihoods recovery and community-based economic development in the Middle East, Africa, and Caucasus since 1915. NEF draws on local teams, experience, and partnerships in these regions to create community-led solutions to improve livelihoods and local governance among conflict and crisis-affected groups, while maintaining neutrality and ensuring inclusiveness in our approach. Working through a network of country offices and local partners, NEF has operations in ten countries: Armenia, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Mali, Morocco, Palestine, Sudan, South Sudan, and Syria. Our programs are organized around three pillars: Inclusive Economic Development, Climate-resilient Development, and Stabilization and Peacebuilding<br><br>Main duties include:<br><ul><li> Supervise and evaluate activities of program and the field work;</li><li> Supervise and manage a team of volunteers to ensure project activities are implemented as outlined in proposal;</li><li> Assign tasks to staff members and Volunteers and provide follow up and guidance;</li><li> Contribute to establishing and implementing operational work plans, setting clear targets and activity plans per activities/trainings in direct coordination with head office and partners;</li><li> Maintain continuous line of communication with country-office on daily basis;</li><li> Ensure smooth exchange of information respectively between partners and volunteers’ program, beneficiaries, and the community;</li><li> Provide technical support as needed;</li><li> Contribute in ongoing field assessments and data collection and entry as/when required;</li><li> Ensure that data is accurately collected, entered, and shared on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis;</li><li> Provide information and advice for beneficiaries and walk ins in the Siraj center on existing services;</li><li> Collaborate with partners and other agencies when required;</li><li> Compile relevant information on available services in assigned location;</li><li> Plan, coordinate and facilitate distribution of materials when needed;</li><li> Maintain records, reports problems or concerns to country office and partners;</li><li> Support other project activities as needed. <br><br></li></ul>Required Qualifications:<br><ul><li> University degree in Social Sciences or any other relevant degree. </li><li> 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role with an INGO</li><li> Strong capacity in reporting</li><li> Strong understanding of the project management cycle. </li><li> Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office. </li><li> Good team spirit</li><li> Familiar with the cultural, socio-economic and political environment in the relevant districts. <br><br></li></ul>Position Criteria:<br><ul><li>Builds and maintains effective relationships, with team, colleagues, other members and external partners and supporters. </li><li>Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills. <br><br></li></ul>NEF will accept a rolling application until the position is filled.
