We’re proud to represent some of the world’s leading performance sports brands including Polar, 2XU, BMC, GU, BBB Cycling and Alé as well as Equestrian brands including Zilco, Polymoule, Toklat and Jacks.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Overview of the Role</strong></p><p>The role is responsible for managing the full import lifecycle for globally sourced products beginning with collection at the manufacturer or supplier; through to transportation and ending with products being received in our warehouse. In addition to import, there will be some international export activities from the UAE. Responsibilities include all activities related to incoming & outgoing shipments, liaising with clearing agents, obtaining government certification, providing documentation for customs clearance, liaising with freight companies and managing key relationships with suppliers to achieve overall operational excellence. The role is also responsible for obtaining approvals from UAE or other authorities, ensuring documentation and certificates are up to date and renewed; as well as any other administrative tasks required. The Shipping & Logistics manager is part of the finance team and will be expected to assist with booking associated logistics costs; as well as ensuring goods are successfully received into SAP and our warehouse.</p><p> </p><p>To be successful in the role the Shipping & Logistics manager will need excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with key stakeholders from freight companies, suppliers, finance, brand managers and warehouse team.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Summary of key responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Logistics</strong></p><p><strong> </strong>· Arrange and execute all aspects of product import lifecycle</p><p>· Communicate with freight companies, suppliers, sales, warehouse and finance to manage inbound and outbound shipments</p><p>· Communicate with suppliers regarding inbound shipments & liaise with freight companies negotiating on quotes & other terms</p><p>· Ensure accurate import & export documentation is provided to customs, shipping companies and other authorities for smooth operation of inbound/outbound shipping</p><p>· Compliance and knowledge of the laws & regulations of UAE & GCC with regards to inbound & outbound shipping</p><p>· Calculating and checking applicable import costs, taxes and duty</p><p>· Reviewing & checking all shipping documentation</p><p>· Negotiate with all 3<sup>rd</sup> parties to reduce costs and evaluate optimum shipping route and transportation methods</p><p>· Constantly look at how we can optimise the logistics function to minimise costs</p><p> </p><p><strong>Registration & Certification</strong></p><p>· Register products with relevant Government entities</p><p>· Maintain accurate records of all registrations and arrange timely renewals</p><p>· Liaise with agencies or 3<sup>rd</sup> parties as required</p><p>· Arrange product relabeling and certification as required</p><p> </p><p><strong>Reporting</strong></p><p>· Maintain accurate & timely records of all shipping activities and associated documents</p><p>· Communicate in a timely manner to resolve any issues in documentation/shipping delays/other relevant matters</p><p>· Providing daily updates on shipping activities</p><p>· Monthly report on inbound & outbound shipping expenses</p><p>· Recording and entering purchase orders</p><p> </p><p><strong>IT/SAP</strong></p><p>· Accounting support for goods/freight related costs</p><p>· Creating purchase orders</p><p>· Maintaining “item master” product catalogue and adding new products</p><p> </p><p><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong></p><p>· Minimum of 5 years experience in similar role</p><p>· Degree educated with a commercial background, preferably in an Accountancy or Business discipline</p><p>· Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills</p><p>· Proficiency with Excel and Word.</p><p>· Exceptionally well organised</p><p>· Able to remain calm under pressure</p><p>· Highly motivated self-starter able to work independently on multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment</p><p>· Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders</p><p>· UAE Driving license</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Remuneration and Benefits</strong></p><p>· Competitive salary</p><p>· Health Insurance</p><p>· 22 days paid annual leave plus Xmas day</p><p>· Air ticket travel benefit</p><p><br></p><p>Please email your resume and cover letter demonstrating the role requirements, including salary expectations to hr@sportinlife.ae with the subject line “Shipping & Logistics Manager Application – Your Name”.</p>
