Under the supervision of the Lead team leader, the candidate is responsible for performing research and development activities related to integration of Sub-systems of demonstrator. He will contribute to the development and success of new technologies for overall design and integration of demonstrators.</p><p><br></p><p>The job includes traveling overseas, on occasion for short periods, in order to participate in conferences, visits from suppliers or partners, training, etc.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Coordinate the production of all engineering documents: specifications, layouts, nomenclature, manufacturing files, procedures, acceptance tests.</li><li>Coordinate all engineering steps according to V-model engineering process.</li><li>To be accountable for the overall responsibility for the operational performance of the demonstrators.</li><li>To discuss with the clients, engineers and others about the requirements and prepare the technical drawings and specifications for purchasing material or equipment as and when required.</li><li>To be a part of, development, and document the troubleshooting procedures for the subordinate operators and technicians so that the work flows smoothly in case there is some occurrence of problems.</li><li>To collaborate with the safety personnel to ensure that all the safety regulations, practices, and procedures have been followed, thereby taking care of the safety of the staff and the equipment.</li><li>Participate in indoor/outdoor experiments, collect, and analyze resulting data, document, and present results.</li><li>Work with manufacturers/internal divisions to define requirements for optical components and subsystems and realize prototypes.</li><li>Derive product design requirements based on top-level requirements and user needs input.</li><li>Take part in the publication of papers in journals or conferences related to the domain of expertise.</li><li>Other duties related to the position.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Demonstrated experience in system engineering of complex systems involving the following core technologies: optics/laser/optoelectronics/photonics.</li><li>Strong basic knowledge of electronics, mechanical engineering, software development and optics physics.</li><li>Teamwork orientation with effective communication, documentation, and presentation skills, as well as commitment to continuous improvement.</li><li>Experience in prototyping, phasing potential products from development to production.</li><li>Deep knowledge of the core technologies is a great plus.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multicultural research team with effective oral and written communication skills.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong>:</p><p><br></p><ul><li>Master’s degree in laser/optical physics, electrical/electronic engineering, or similar</li><li>At least 5 years of working experience in an R&amp;D department (or similar environment) directly related to the topic.</li><li>Good level of English (speaking and writing)</li></ul><p><br></p><p>At TII, we help society to overcome its biggest hurdles through a rigorous approach to scientific discovery and inquiry, using state-of-the-art facilities and collaboration with leading international institutions.
