Job Description:

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and analyzing various structures to ensure their stability, integrity, and safety. You will lead and coordinate structural engineering projects, oversee a team of engineers, and collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to deliver high-quality solutions. Your expertise in structural engineering principles and practices will be utilized to develop innovative designs and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

Design and Analysis: Develop conceptual and detailed designs for various structures, such as buildings, bridges, dams, and towers. Conduct structural analysis using software tools and manual calculations to determine load capacities, stress distributions, and structural behavior.

Project Management: Lead and manage structural engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate structural designs with architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems.

Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of structural engineers, providing technical guidance, reviewing their work, and fostering professional development. Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure efficient utilization of resources.

Code Compliance: Stay updated with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance in all structural designs. Coordinate with regulatory authorities and obtain necessary permits and approvals.

Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, provide technical recommendations, and resolve design-related issues. Participate in design review meetings and coordinate interdisciplinary coordination efforts.

Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical reports, specifications, drawings, and other project documentation. Review and approve drawings and design calculations prepared by the team members. Maintain accurate project records and ensure proper documentation of design changes and decisions.

Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on design deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements. Implement quality control measures and participate in design and safety reviews.

Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and advancements in structural engineering. Seek opportunities to enhance design methodologies, improve efficiency, and optimize structural performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with a focus on structural engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required.
  • Proven experience as a Structural Engineer, with progressively increasing responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, codes, and standards.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software, such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar tools.
  • Experience in managing and leading structural engineering projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex structural issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Overall 15+ years of experience.
