Role Objective:

The incumbent will analyze and provide application support to the Business Users in terms of operational processes and/or adhoc report / enhancement requests, root cause analysis, follow up on issue resolution by logging/ documenting issues, coordinate with business and vendors, as needed. The incumbent will develop/ extract reports from existing applications /databases. The job holder will analyze and provide application support in terms of testing life cycle including requirements validation, test planning, test case development, development of test automation frameworks, functional testing, performance/load testing, stress testing, user acceptance testing and documentation. The incumbent will analyze and provide application support in terms of validation of product release features, handle issue resolution, adhere with release calendar, liaise with Testing/ PMO team, Go-Live activities, monitor progress and post release feedback gathering / improvements, and maintenance of deployment repository.

Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the BUs owners in terms of software development process to maximize functionality in support of business objectives
  • Translate and document business requirements into technical / functional specifications, in line with the business processes.
  • Ensure completion of the change requests related to the Application within Service Level Agreements.
  • Evaluate system change requests, and support in coordination efforts with the vendor (as applicable) for necessary developments/estimations for change requests, in line with the established service level agreements.
  • Create reports on project status, including development timelines and identifying potential problems that may cause delays in completion across the development, testing and release management areas.
  • Identify and recommend/ support in implementation of improvements to existing applications in line with the business requirements
  • Perform root-cause analysis, provide technical support and troubleshoot technical defects/ issues with existing applications and coordinate with the respective teams (external/internal), as applicable.
  • Perform quality assurance testing of new application/features to ensure compliance with the functionality specifications.
  • Generate usage reports and catalog problems the BUs have faced in terms of the respective application.
  • Support in planning the test cycles, test frameworks and tools and release management.
  • Develop system test cases and validate test results during testing process business requirements raised by the respective stakeholders
  • Work with the respective teams in troubleshooting and resolving issues and track/report/ document technical defects and resolutions, as identified.
  • Liaise with the application development teams (external/internal) and the BUs to develop and provide technical/functional reports, documentations, updates and queries.
  • Maintain Document version control information for the new function releases/ interface specifications/system modifications.
  • Provide technical support, training and information to the users on the functionalities of the application.
  • Assist in project management and interdependencies in terms of development/change, testing and release management.
  • Support the Team Leader in resolving audit findings pertaining to the application, within the agreed timeframe.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills Required:

  • University graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or any other related discipline from a recognized university.
  • Master’s degree in management any other related discipline from a recognized university.
  • 06-10 years of total experience in financial services/banking industry, entailing responsibilities pertaining to the specific area of discipline.
  • Prior experience in Core Banking Application Support as an individual contributor
  • Significant experience in development/programming, application testing & QA and application deployment
  • Ability to manage code migration, document configuration changes, and monitor performance
  • Proficiency in trouble shooting and resolving database performance bottlenecks
  • Proficiency with Business Objects & Report Building
  • Project management skills
  • Proficient in Release Management
  • Proficient in App. Development/change management
  • Proficient in Application testing / Quality control
  • Knowledge of banking regulatory framework

Certifications:

  • PMP or any other Industry certified technical qualification in related area is preferable
  • Relevant QA / testing certification and ITIL certification is mandatory
