Role Purpose:
 

The Head Sales Development Manager participate with District Manager to define the Commercial Strategy.

He should guarantee the commercial business model of supermarkets & Convenience: Assortment – Promotional Plan – Layout/planogram as per the store format and cluster.

He coordinates with Merchandise & Marketing team, and secure the roll out of merchant decision with the Area Managers.

Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
 

Sales Strategy

  • Secure the Commercial Business Model of Supermarkets defined with Country Manager, DM & FC
  • Participate in the development of category studies to identify sales development solutions to increase sales and profit by implementing the proper assortment, planogram, promo plan
  • Adapt the Promotional National plan to the Supermarkets, measure its performance, profitability for management to review
  • With Merchandise Team oversee the implementation of new concepts in pilot stores, measure and secure roll out

Store Assortment Management

  • Define the Category Role for Supermarkets Format & Convenience
  • Establish Range structure / Store Matrix as per the format and Customers Profile
  • Coordinate with Merchandise & Sales Development Hyper the assortment
  • Analyse the performance of assortments and propose changes to relevant category managers
  • Secure the penetration of Private Labels
  • Secure Space Optimization and range efficiency, thru Planogram adapted to the format
  • Measure and control profitability after the implementation of Merchant projects
  • Secure the Mix Margin: Category profitability and weight Promo vs Regular

Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with Area Managers to secure implementation and roll out Merchant decisions
  • Close collaboration & Coordination with Merchandise team
  • Communicate with the marketing department to develop bespoke campaigns
  • Encourage workshop via Head of File to implement Pilot stores and roll out
  • Work with Store Replenishment team on facilitating the supply process

Human Capital Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a team of  managers 
  • Animate Project team to coordinate Opening and remodeling with Area Managers
  • Participate to the Develop trainings for relevant subjects belong to Sales Development (Matrix- Planogram – Promo…) and coordinate with the learning team on the implementation of the training material
  • Provide mentorship for the purpose of developing a continuous talent pipeline for key roles
  • Provide inputs while developing MAF Retail’s corporate policies and relevant procedures, and monitor the implementation

 

Personal Characteristics and Required Background:

Minimum Qualifications/education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Administration or Marketing
  • Master’s Degree in in Business Administration is preferred

Minimum experience

  • Operational experience in Food ideally in Supermarkets ( 5 years)
  • Experience in Merchandise – Category Management (minimum 5 years)
  • Senior managerial role (manage manager/ decision maker)
