<p>Our client is currently looking for trained, qualified, experienced <strong>Radiation Protection Technicians</strong> to provide radiological protection to protect the health and safety of the employees, public, and environment from the harmful hazards of radiation through, surveys, sampling, and compliance with regulations, standards, and procedures.</p><p><br></p><p>The incumbent must work with minimal supervision and be qualified to perform in-field monitoring (including continuous job coverage) of radiological work activities, control contamination at source through the use of engineering controls, conduct radiological surveys to assess all types of radiological hazards (i.e. Alpha, Beta, Gamma/X-rays and Neutron), reinforce excellence in radiation worker standards, and perform routine surveillances and inspections in accordance with standard procedures. </p><p><br></p><p>Send your CV’s to <strong>nadapen@mphglobal.net </strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>The duration of the contract is between September 2023 to November 2023.</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>About the role:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Provide job coverage for radiological concerns during routine and special radiological work activities including continuous job coverage and remote monitoring activities when assigned. Special activities include high radiological risk activities, such as radiography, primary steam generator and pressurizer maintenance, in-core movement, containment entries, reactor vessel head maintenance, valves, and pump maintenance.</li><li>Conduct radiological survey assessments to identify hazards and to be acquainted with all established practices and procedures for radiation hazards control.</li><li>Monitor and perform Access Controls for various types of radiological conditions, such as for high, locked, and very high radiation areas, contaminated and highly contaminated areas, discrete radioactive particle areas, and airborne contamination areas.</li><li>Perform accurate plant radiological decontamination surveillances, interpret results, taking appropriate action to prevent the further spread of radiological surface contamination to safeguard personnel.</li><li>Select an issue correct Personnel Protective Clothing (PPC) and respiratory equipment for radiation, contamination, and airborne conditions.</li><li>Accurately document and maintain survey records as per the procedure.</li><li>Establish and utilize necessary engineering controls when required by ALARA Plans and Radiation Work Permits.</li><li>Calculate and enforce radiological stay times, enforcing radiological dose limits during all work activities inside a radiation-controlled zone area.</li><li>Secure plant areas to contain the spread of radiological surface and airborne contamination, safeguarding site personnel from body contamination incidents and the possible harmful effects of inhaling radioactive particles and gases.</li><li>Designate and operate a temporary Radiation Controlled Area (RCA) in accordance with standards and procedures.</li><li>Implement applicable operating experiences associated with the work activities.</li><li>Prepare, survey, and package radioactive material for shipment, when required.</li><li>Prevent “uncontrolled release” of radioactive material from the RCA.</li><li>Implement controls, dose assessments, and install shielding as per ALARA Plans.</li><li>Perform on-job radiation protection observation and surveillance of all activities in the radiation-controlled areas.</li><li>Comply to the “Work Stop Criteria” and immediately report to the supervisor any unusual conditions that is different then what was briefed, or as identified in procedure, RWP, or ALARA Plan, or if poor radiation worker behaviors are observed.</li><li>Perform personnel body radiological decontamination using most appropriate techniques, submit reports, investigate, and take action to prevent further incidents, advise and assist medical personnel where applicable with further decontamination.</li><li>Ensure an appropriate and accurate shift handover, which include all relevant information impacting on radiological and nuclear safety.</li><li>Perform accurate radiological controlled equipment release surveillances as per procedure.</li><li>Routinely monitor, suggest and coach radiation workers to verify the radiation workers understand radiological conditions and precautions.</li><li>To be acquainted with all established practices and procedures for radiation hazards control, be familiar with underlying methods and be capable of taking action in isolated areas.</li><li>Perform other related duties as per Radiation Protection Management request.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What you can bring?:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Senior Radiation Protection Technicians shall have 3 years of related experience which shall include a year of working experience at nuclear power plants or a minimum of 2 refueling outages.</li><li>An acceptable alternative to the related experience requirement is the successful completion of a training program based on a systematic approach to training and 1 year of nuclear power plant experience.</li><li>Effective Communication, be able to speak, read, write, and interpret English fluently.</li><li>Must possess the ability to improvise and to deal adequately with rapidly changing conditions.</li><li>Must be tactful and diplomatic, able to work effectively with employees and be able to present recommendations in a clear and effective manner.</li><li>The ability to work at heights, in heat stress, and confined spaces conditions.</li><li>Be a self-motivated and the ability to work with minimal supervision.</li><li>Be able to make appropriate actions to keep personnel safe from radiological hazards.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Our Client :</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Our client is a French leader in industrial maintenance and energy services.</p><p><br></p><p>From engineering, design, and maintenance, to dismantling and cleanup, our teams work in industrial and nuclear environments that require safety and operational rigor.
