As one of the world’s leading total solutions providers for the built environment, Faithful+Gould has been providing a versatile blend of construction, program, cost and project management to private companies and the public sector for more than 60 years.<br><br>To lead our successful post-contract team in UAE, we are now seeking to add an MRICS Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established professional team, committed to technical integrity, innovation and development of its people.<br><br><strong><u>Responsibilities<br><br></u></strong><strong>Key Responsibilities:<br></strong><ul><li>The Quantity Surveyors will report to either a Commercial Manager or Associate Director</li><li>Will be responsible for organising measurement tasks when preparing estimates / cost plans</li><li>Draft estimates / cost plans for review and finalisation with senior management.</li><li>Preparation of BOQ including drafting Preambles / General Requirements.</li><li>Undertake market review / research for compiling and updating unit rates for estimating.</li><li>Responsible for on-site and off-site quantity verifications and confirmation with regards to payments and variation works.</li><li>Responsible for checking and verifications of all invoices of the said sub packages on site.</li><li>Maintain a register of payments.</li><li>Check the materials on and off site and verified delivery and acceptance from the client’s representative for payment approval.</li><li>Prepare and maintain records of all sub-contractors agreement and payments.</li><li>On site verification of Final Accounts submitted by the Contractors and selected Sub Contractors and Suppliers, adjusting as necessary and providing recommendations to the Client.</li><li>Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts for Subcontract works.</li><li>Update Cost report.</li><li>Carry out cost estimates for alternative design solutions.</li><li>Prepare estimates of variation works<br></li></ul><strong><u>Post Contract<br></u></strong><ul><li>Management of bonds, insurances and guarantee logs;</li><li>Interim valuations and payment certificates;</li><li>Variations analysis, recommendations and management;</li><li>Risk and value management and cost control functions;</li><li>Costs analysis project work;</li><li>Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks;</li><li>Preparation of progress/ cost reports;</li><li>Reporting to Associate Director on all commercial issues;</li><li>Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations;</li><li>Attendance and representation at commercial meetings.<br></li></ul><strong><u>Experiences And Qualifications<br></u></strong><ul><li>MRICS or APC candidate who anticipate to complete chartership in specified time period.</li><li>Experienced in residential, high rise projects.</li><li>Degree in Quantity Surveying from recognised UK university;</li><li>Minimum of 10 years’ experience;</li><li>Minimum of 5 years’ UAE/ international experience;</li><li>Must have consultant and/or client background for minimum of 3 years;</li><li>Knowledge in the use of QS software Cost X or similar is required;</li><li>Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;</li><li>Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills.<br></li></ul><strong><u>Rewards & Benefits<br><br></u></strong>We offer an excellent package which includes:<br><ul><li>A competitive salary</li><li>Transportation allowance</li><li>Medical and life insurance cover</li><li>Annual leave</li><li>Medical and life insurance cover</li><li>Company gratuity scheme</li><li>Discretionary bonus scheme</li><li>Annual flight allowance to point of origin<br></li></ul>SNC-Lavalin is committed to eliminating discrimination and encouraging diversity amongst our workforce.
