About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country’s crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Purpose of the Job

• To lead the PT feasibility assessment and design selection for the Carbon Capture & Storage development in PDO
• To lead the CO2 injection well and completion design decisions including metallurgy selection, flow assurance, monitoring, well integrity and well control.
• To actively contribute to the itegrated development review of the CO2 capture, transport and injection/storage system to ensure full functionality fulfillment and decision optimality.
• To provide Perforation technical support to PDO development projects as required
• To mentor Associate Perforation SMEs in PDO
• To stay abreast with latest industry best practices and development trends in the Perforation area through active participation with external professional organizations and universities
• To ensure learning and best practics from projects and operations are dissiminated with the organization and captured where appropriate in the key knowledge data bases
• To lead the development and update of Perforation training materials, standards and guidelines and other relavent PT courses including Perforation related topics
• To participate in delivery of specialist training courses
• To support the Technical Authorities in Perforation area, and if so designated this may also involve assuming specific TA authority under the DCAF system.
• To contribute to the functional improvement plan

Education & Experience

• University degree in Petroleum Engineering or relavent technical subjects with +15 years experience in Oil & Gas industry
• Technically strong in Production Technology domain with skill level experience in field development planning and oil & gas asset operations.
• Strong skills in Perforation methods including technology selection, operations, solution desing and software modelling
• Technically strong in petroleum engineering (subsurface disciplines)
• Strong leadership skills effectively leading perforation specialist.
• Strong leadership skills (Motivates, coaches and develops); participates in multidisciplinary teams and being a strong team player, able to develop close-knit relationships with asset and project teams.
• Experienced & effective coach/mentor
• Effective communicator

Main Responsibilities

s Senior PT in CCUS team

• Act as the Petro-Technical Expert for performations activities across PDO and support all relevant associated technical subjects
• Provides Production technology related technical consultations in selection, design, and operation of well and completion design, stimulation strategy and CCS/CCUS compatibility
• Lead the Production Technology deliverables related to the CCS/CCUS opportunities in PDO through the Assess/Select stage (Discipline report, Concept select report, WRFM & surveillance plan, MMV…etc )

As Perforation Principle Technical Expert

• Participates in audits, VARs, health checks, technical reviews, investigations and peer assists as required and guided by the Discipline Head
• Take the role of expert reviewer in the best practices worth replicating process
• Support Learning & Development and delivers specialists training courses
• Coaches Production Technologists on the job
• Supports development of future SME’s
• Provide Technical Assurance
• When required, provide technical operations support especially for new technology implementation, and emergency operations
• Provide technical support and functional input to Contract Teams
• Provide technical support for new technology selection and implementation.
• Develops and maintains on behalf of CFDH Perforation standards, guidelines and technology plans
• Keep up to date with Industry developments in the subject and dissemination of relevant information to the wider PDO community
• Act as PDO Focal Point for Shell and Industry networks, represent PDO in relevant industry standard setting bodies and at international and external workshops/conferences related to Perforation
• Actively build and contribute in knowledge sharing networks; build and lead PDO expertise network (Technical Focus Groups)
