<strong>Job Description<br><br></strong><strong>Job Overview:<br><br></strong>On Project reports to: Project Construction Manager or Fabrication Operations Engineer.<br><br>Liaise With Other Discipline Engineers, Project Construction Managers, Fabrication Planning Engineer, Fabrication Superintendents, Procurement Personnel, Yard Supervision, Material Control & Warehousing Personnel, Drafting Personnel.<br><br>Supervises production engineering group including drafting squad leaders, materials controllers, planning engineers.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><strong>Key Tasks and Responsibilities:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Responsible for the overall project inter-discipline coordination between members of the operations support groups, throughout one or more project phases of detail design, fabrication, offshore installation and hook-up.</li><li>Lead discipline Production Engineer Supervises other production engineers in his team.</li><li>Lead discipline Production Engineer identifies resource needs for the project and communicate these regularly to Production Engineering Manager.</li><li>Manage timely progress reporting on the project.</li><li>Understands the full contractual scope of work, contract type and milestone schedules.</li><li>Review & understand estimates, ensure they are correct. Provide feedback to estimation dept.</li><li>Reviews constructability and ensure work execution plan is based on the most productive option.</li><li>Conducts fabrication look ahead meetings or site meetings and prioritizes material and drawings to suit.</li><li>Responsible for documenting all scope of work changes (change orders) and coordinating AFC estimate updates.</li><li>Solves technical problems and initiates site queries to ensure work disruption is minimized and productivity is optimized.</li><li>Forecast fabrication requirements (deliverable inputs) to meet the project contract schedule. Highlights issues to Operations Engineer or Construction Manager.</li><li>Leads work pack issuance and follow up of all activities for work pack execution.</li><li>Prepare project specific task listing.</li><li>At commencement of the project participates in fabrication kick-off meeting.</li><li>Appraises construction manager of any project issues which effect the forecasted progress, productivity and schedule commitments.</li><li>Develops a work pack index and sets priorities and deliverable dates for the discipline teams.</li><li>Reviews input deliverable dates (material & drawings) and advises impact to fabrication schedule. </li><li>Authorizes technical queries/correspondence to be issued to the client.</li><li>Participates in development of project fabrication execution plan to meet contract requirements most productively.</li><li>Leads project constructability program effort for fabrication.</li><li>Prepares project fabrication lessons learnt.</li><li>Identifies project risks and opportunities.</li><li>Establishes a productive working relationship with client representatives.</li><li>Leads coordination & follow up with service providers (Example: subcontractors, construction engineering teams).</li><li>Participates in QHSES initiatives and drive achieving objectives. Follow the company policies.</li><li>Work collaboratively within the Project team and with Client to maintain positive relationships.</li><li>Responsible for the development of commissioning and start-up deliverables on the project.</li><li>Participates in the Engineering Design Workshops (HAZID / HAZOP, 3D Model, etc.).</li><li>Participates in the Modularization and Constructability Studies.</li><li>Provides input for the development of a Commissioning Schedule and the integration into the overall EPC Schedule.</li><li>Provides input to scope of work subcontracted packages as required for the EPC cost estimate.</li><li>Provides input for Spares, Temporary Equipment, Consumables and Tools as required for the EPC cost estimate.</li><li>Reports to the Commissioning Manager<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><strong>Essential Qualifications and Education:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Preferably possess a degree (or equivalent) in either process, chemical or mechanical engineering.</li><li>Have pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up experience as a commissioning engineer on at least 3 major EPC projects in the LNG industry.</li><li>Have 3+ years’ previous commissioning experience on a LNG FEED project in an Engineering office.</li><li>Experience of APCI C3MR process, Full Containment LNG Storage Tanks and LNG loading facilities.</li><li>Demonstrates a broad technical knowledge of construction and system completion activities.</li><li>Able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers.</li><li>Must have strong English communications skills, both oral and written.</li><li>Must have excellent computer software skills in MS Office suite as a minimum.</li><li>Must have good Presentation skills for meetings with Engineering, Project Management and Client.</li><li>Must have excellent organizational skills and be adaptable to various needs of various discipline groups.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Company Overview and Core Values:<br><br></strong>McDermott is a premier, fully-integrated provider of technology, engineering and construction solutions to the energy industry.
