Primary Objectives / Responsibilities

Supports the business by communicating team resource loading and skill requirements to the direct supervisor.
– Ensures the project work is covered for vacation and unplanned absences.
– Mentors/trains and supports the delivery of training.
– Encourages knowledge of and compliance with requirements and processes.
– Works to resolve inter-discipline, vendor, and customer issues.
– Ensures discipline technical work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
– Ensures team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
– Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
– Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.
– Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence. Supports checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
– Assists in determining issues, defining problems, identifying the pros and cons of multiple solutions. Makes recommendations for technical deviations from client specifications or technical queries. Assists in creating final documentation incorporating all relevant information and the pursuit of client authorization.

Job Specific Knowledge:
– Familiar with the prime drivers related to onshore/offshore topsides/plant layout piping design
– A thorough knowledge of the codes and standards and a good understanding of onshore/offshore engineering practices applicable to piping design for oil and gas facilities.
– Able to make difficult decisions and lead and manage others in changing business conditions
– Competent with the project estimating process and can input design deliverables into estimating module
– Conversant with brownfield engineering principles and ability to incorporate them into design.
– Understands Hydrocarbon processing and process diagrams (PFD’s/P&ID’s).
– Able to manage project/multiple project piping teams including all reporting.
