<p><strong><u>Reports to: </u></strong>Assistant Director Educational Development and Assessment</p><p><strong><u>Purpose:</u></strong> The job holder will provide technical and pedagogical support to the capture and communication of program results and ensure high-quality, timely, valid, and verifiable data collection, reporting, analysis, and learning. He/she will be responsible for collaborating and executing a comprehensive strategy for monitoring, evaluation, and learning for The American University in Cairo’s (AUC) Learning Spaces Strategic Plan project activities and Next Normal Digital Learning Spaces for Educational Transformation project with the Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT) support. This will include designing and conducting needs assessments, focus groups, and surveys. The holder of this position will oversee a rigorous data collection and management system that supports the activity’s principal investigators to assess performance and submit evidence-based progress reports. In addition, collaborate on assessment activities within the AUC learning spaces plan, support faculty in active learning strategies, and collaborate with the project team and stakeholders to ensure the project objectives and activities align with the grant requirements and expectations.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Responsibilities:</u></strong></p><p><strong>Monitoring and Evaluation:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide technical support for the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks for the AUC Learning Spaces Strategic Plan project and the Next Normal Digital Learning Spaces for Educational Transformation project.</li><li>Collaborate with CLT team and stakeholders to align project objectives and activities with grant requirements and expectations.</li><li>Design and conduct needs assessments, focus groups, and surveys to gather relevant data for monitoring and evaluation purposes.</li><li>Develop and implement data collection and management systems to ensure rigorous and accurate data collection.</li><li>Analyze collected data and prepare reports on project performance, progress, and impact.</li><li>Support the project’s principal investigators in assessing performance and preparing evidence-based progress reports.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Data Quality and Management:</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure the integrity and accuracy of collected data through regular quality checks and verification procedures.</li><li>Develop and maintain data management systems to efficiently store, organize, and retrieve project-related data.</li><li>Collaborate with project teams to identify data gaps and recommend appropriate data collection methods and tools.</li><li>Stay updated on relevant monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) practices, methodologies, and tools to enhance data quality and management.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Learning and Communication:</strong></p><ul><li>Support the capture and communication of program results to various stakeholders</li><li>Collaborate with the Center for Learning and Teaching support to develop and implement effective learning strategies for faculty members.</li><li>Assist in the dissemination of lessons learned, best practices, and success stories to enhance organizational learning and program effectiveness.</li><li>Contribute to the development and delivery of capacity-building initiatives and training workshops related to monitoring, evaluation, and learning.</li><li>Provide technical and pedagogical support to faculty members and project team members in implementing active learning strategies.</li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Requirements:</u></strong></p><p><strong><u>Minimum Education Requirements: </u></strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in education and/or development, economics, statistics, data analytics, or a related field of study.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Experience:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Minimum 8 years of experience with 1-3 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation in higher education (or a related context) and capacity building activities</li><li>Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with institutional stakeholders</li><li>Experience working with and supporting faculty members (preferred)</li><li>Experience training staff in MEL concepts and activities</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Skills:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Strong data analysis and report writing skills</li><li>Strong project management skills</li><li>Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Fluency in written and spoken English</li></ul><p><br></p><p><em>This position is open until August 14, 2023</em></p><p><br></p><p><em>Placement is based on the candidate’s experience and skills.
