Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
To perform exception management handling via system defined rules and BAU (Business As Usual) periods. Apply factual and judgmental skills in the decision-making process to escalate issues. Adhere to agreed escalation matrix defined by each department in order to effectively meet their BAU requirements. Apart from daily reconciliation and control of Card reconciliation through the Reconciliation system, the Reconciliation Officer should have a systematic and accurate approach for reconciling, balancing GL accounts, promptly and investigate discrepancies of discrepant transactions by following the Reconciliation and Exception Management, Processes and Procedures. Responsible for review of General Ledger accounts assigned for prompt identification of funds being exposed to any risk. Establish effective non-BAU reporting for all items escalated to high-level management by providing data for MIS reporting. Ensure checks and controls are carried out as part of governance and monitoring

- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
- Demonstrate compliance to organisation’s values and ethics at all times to support the establishment of a value drive culture within the bank
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction
Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate statements and reports to meet department requirements, policies and quality standards.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics, Commerce and Finance or related discipline
Minimum Experience
- 4-8 years’ relevant experience in the banking sector with at least 2-3 years in similar positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities in the Core Processing function
- Sound knowledge of accounting, reconciliation and settlements with expert MS Excel, Access knowledge and experience applied to derive Reconciliation results.
