Job Summary
The Senior MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Project Manager supports the organization in providing leadership and technical expertise in the key areas of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing engineering. This position is responsible for a portfolio of construction projects as are assigneed and must ensure quality in keeping with international best practices and national construction standards.
Job Responsibilities 1
Ensures the project is completed on scheduled programme, with minimum cost expenditure, maximum value recovery, and safe working environment and at the same time provides clients with a quality product.
Leads and communicates with Client, Supervision/Project Team, Subcontractors and Vendors to process the works of the Project schedule as requirement of MEP Scope of Works.
Reports through agreed lines on project plans and progress through highlight reports and ensuring end-stage assessments
Leads and manages in the development of Department Action Plan relevant to MEP activities
Leads in the development of standard operating procedures relevant to mechanical/electrical and plumbing engineering
Directs in developing and monitoring project performance against strategies and plans and takes action as necessary to ensure achievement of goals and objectives
Develops and reviews designs for mechanical/electromechanical, HVAC electrical and plumbing systems and oversees the preparation of related engineering drawings.
Prepares MEP Design Reports and pursue approvals from relevant regulatory authorities.
Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by undertaking and applying the relevant principles
Leads in the development of RFQs / RFPs from inception to sign-off of project(s).
Oversees and monitors the construction of mechanical/electromechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
Provides technical advice/input relevant to MEP systems
Read and interpret design and construction drawings, schematics and system generated reports
Ensures that the records management function is maintained in accordance with the Corporation’s approved policies and procedures
Prepares engineering reports, budgets, tender documents, cost estimates and assists in the evaluation of proposal

Knowledge of laws and regulations governing large construction projects
In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, techniques and concepts
In-depth knowledge of Building Codes
Knowledge of building systems, energy technologies, green building and high performance design
Understanding of marketing strategy and market analysis techniques is a strong plus
Knowledge of energy efficiency, performance contracting, commissioning, BIM or green building is a strong plus
Knowledge of MEP construction (electrical and controls)
In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing techniques
Knowledge in hands-on experience in design of product submittal preparation, review & approval and also experience in construction support, testing, inspection, commissioning. With adequate knowledge of relevant international codes and standard such, NFPA, ASHRAE, IIEE regulations and local Authority code

Excellent experience in contracting companies.
Excellent knowledge of MEP activities and Quality Management System
Excellent communication skills – oral and written as well as presentation skills.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Tools and software relevant to job functions
Team-oriented, hands-on, highly skilled, adaptive, and client-focused.
Managing large construction/commercial projects with primary responsibility for mechanical/electrical and plumbing systems
Prepares presentations, capability of convincing others through presentations to accept a specific opinion or action, or provide information and instructions.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
