SNC-Lavalin has an exciting full-time career opportunity for a <strong>Senior Mechanical Engineer</strong> with minimum 15 years’ experience. Candidates having relevant project experience with<strong> transmission &amp; distribution lines, substations, power stations</strong> are preferred<strong>. </strong>The role is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.<br><br>The candidate will work in a fast-paced consulting environment with excellent career growth opportunities.<br><br><strong><u>Responsibilities<br><br></u></strong>Working in collaboration with the Mechanical team to prepare the following deliverables / provide the following engineering services (non-exhaustive list):<br><ul><li>Development of technical specifications.</li><li>Development of conceptual and detail designs.</li><li>Design of interfaces with protection and control systems, civil works, structures, etc.</li><li>Preparation of bid documents and bid evaluations.</li><li>Design review of detail design performed by O.E.M. and third-party detail design.</li><li>Ensure interdisciplinary coordination.</li><li>Take part in audits and technical assessment.</li><li>Construction supervision; development of installation procedures and method statements.</li><li>Commissioning supervision.</li><li>Witnessing factory testing.</li><li>Feasibility and techno-economic studies.</li><li>Design studies and calculations.<br></li></ul><strong><u>Requirements<br></u></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, from a recognized institution.</li><li>Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, particularly related to power systems, transmission &amp; distribution lines, substations, power stations projects.</li><li>Exceptional academic and professional record.</li><li>Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a focus achieving results.</li><li>Team player with great interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.</li><li>Client focused, highly autonomous, and ability to work under pressure.</li><li>Eligibility for registration with a Professional Order of Engineers.</li><li>Availability for short trips to construction sites, factories, client’s offices, in Canada, international and overseas.</li><li>Fluency in English language, both spoken and written.
