Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

We are looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who will be working on scanned files/mesh files and generate CAD models. The purpose is to ensure technical efficiency and quality in the reverse engineering and re-designing of components based on standards and functional parts applications.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

· Execute the reverse engineering, design release and certification requirements of mechanical components and assemblies.

· Review designs for accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability

· Drafting engineering drawing as per ASME Y14.5 & company standards

· Ability to read and capture all theoretical input data required to generate the final 3D CAD model and engineering drawings of functional components. These data can include (3D scanned stl, dimensions, surface features, material, hardness, part application,..etc)

· Provide technical solutions for a wide range of tasks.

· Ability to generate Manufacturing drawings.

· CAD Design Approvals

· GD&T reviews and Approval

· Manufacturing Standards and plans Approvals

· Assure design quality, dimensional tolerances and set the standards of Engineering Drawings.

· Work independently to analyze, interpret, and translate source data into the product.

· Read and understand blueprints, tolerances, components manufacturing drawings

· Finalize parts CAD files and Engineering 2D drawings using 2D/3D CAD software

· Designing based on input data & application requirements and defining tolerances based on fitment requirements to guide the product manufacturing process.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical from a reputed university.
• 7-10 years of extensive experience in reverse engineering, functional components CAD Design and manufacturing drawings.
• 7 years of extensive experience in dimensional measurements and drafting 2D manufacturing engineering drawings.
• Basic knowledge of 3D manufacturing metal technologies.
• 10 years of experience with engineering and modelling software (SolidWorks, Geomagics DesignX)
• Expert in reading and generating components manufacturing drawings  
• Problem solving skills to counter issues in advance.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Capable of thriving in a fast-paced work environment with pressure and tight deadlines
• Knowledgeable of laser 3D scanners
• Ability to work on scanned files to finish and design functional parts.
• Solid knowledge in API Design Standards of Pumps and Valves
• Knowledgeable of materials and mechanical properties
• Knowledgeable of the terminology of dimensional tolerance and surface fitment
• Experienced in mechanical components CAD design related to rotating and static equipment categories of pumps, valves, compressors..etc
• Knowledgeable of manufacturing process: 3D Printing, Machining, testing, Fabrication, and Heat Treatment
