Purpose
You will provide civil engineering services to Worley and its customers, including technical support and supervision within the civil engineering team.

Responsibilities

Be responsible for the design of marine structures with particular emphasis in the design of marine intakes and outfalls

Work will include production of technical reports, written calculations, design briefs, drawings, specifications, schedules, contract documentation and the like.

Able to work successfully with other members of the design and management team on multiple discipline projects, including, drafters / designers and supervising engineers.

Supervision of project designated junior Engineers and draftsmen in the execution of their duties.

Follow design guidelines, standards, and procedures to effectively execute assigned work.

Adhere to assigned budgets and schedules, manage priorities for your own work and communicate status to the Lead Engineer or Project Manager.

Check compliance with QA/Safety/Environment requirements.

Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Worley Quality Management System.

Safety – Responsible for personal safety and implementing safe working practices.

HSE – Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

Industry Specific Experience:

Minimum 10 years experience, of which at least 5 years has involved design of marine intakes and outfalls.

Experience in the design of a wide range of marine structures including marine intakes and outfalls.

Familiarity with British, European and International standards and other construction practices to be utilised during project execution.

Appreciation of the specific issues, such as durability, related to the use of structural elements in a marine environment.

Experience in coastal engineering issues such as tides, waves, currents, sediment transport, etc.

Conversant in the evaluation of the condition of marine structures, including condition surveys and projected maintenance programs.

Able to develop, agree and manage design production schedules and manage junior staff

Preference will be given to candidates with:

Chartered or Engineers working towards becoming Chartered Civil or Structural Engineers.

Experience working in the Middle East.

Critical Must:

Design of rock structures such as breakwaters, groynes and revetments.

Design Intake & Outfall structures (Intake head/ diffusers)

An asset to have:

Design of water pipelines

Design of Hydraulic systems

Education (qualifications, accreditation, training)

Minimum 10-15 Years

Bachelor of engineering

French Speaking – Desirable

Arabic Speaking – Desirable

Intakes and outfalls considered a major plus
