<p><strong>Job Description:</strong> Senior Manager, External Communications </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Position Overview:</strong></p><p>We are seeking a highly experienced and talented individual to join our utility company as a Senior Manager of External Communications. In this role, which reports to the&nbsp;VP / Director of corporate communications,&nbsp;you will be responsible for overseeing and executing all aspects of external communications, including public relations, external events, and internal publications. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, demonstrate a strong command of English, and preferably be a fluent speaker. Proven experience in leading agencies or in-house roles is a must.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>1. Develop and implement comprehensive external communication strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.</p><p>2. Manage all aspects of public relations activities, including media relations, press releases, media interviews, and crisis communications.</p><p>3. Plan and execute external events, such as conferences, trade shows, and community engagement programs, to enhance the company’s reputation and brand awareness.</p><p>4. Oversee the creation and production of various internal publications, including annual reports, ESG reports, brochures, newsletters, and other marketing collateral.</p><p>5. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Legal, Operations, and Senior Leadership, to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.</p><p>6. Cultivate relationships with key media outlets, industry influencers, and stakeholders to maximize positive exposure and coverage for the company.</p><p>7. Monitor industry trends, news, and competitor activities to proactively identify opportunities and risks, and provide strategic recommendations.</p><p>8. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of communications professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting continuous learning and growth.</p><p>9. Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilization and cost efficiency in all communications initiatives.</p><p>10. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and digital platforms to leverage innovative communication channels and tools.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><p>1. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.</p><p>2. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in external communications, preferably within the utility or energy sector.</p><p>3. Strong command of the English language, with exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills. Fluent English speakers are preferred.</p><p>4. Proven track record of successfully managing external communications, including PR campaigns, events, and internal publications.</p><p>5. Extensive experience working with leading agencies or in-house communication roles, demonstrating the ability to drive impactful strategies and deliver results.</p><p>6. Deep understanding of public relations practices, media relations, and crisis communications management.</p><p>7. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.</p><p>8. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving innovation and continuous improvement.</p><p>9. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.</p><p>10.
