<p><span>The Senior Game Designer determines the structure of a game, which includes its rules, objectives, systems and features. He/She communicates these game elements to various Production team members and provides the direction needed to deliver the intended user experience. He/She conceives the game’s overall user experience and interaction scenarios to design user journeys, as well as user interfaces. He/She trains game testers to play the game, making sure that the game elements are balanced and that they understand what is expected of the finished product.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>He/She leads a team to deliver creative outcomes in a challenging project environment, as well as aligning expectations and outcomes with multiple teams. He/She is mainly involved with creative ideation, and provides guidance to his/her team. He/She attends regular meetings with other teams.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>He/She has a passion for games. He/She is a creative thinker and an effective problem solver with an eye for detail. He/She is a capable multi-tasker and is proficient in collaborating with multiple teams concurrently. He/She possesses good communication and negotiation skills.</span></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Collaborate with the Technical Development team to develop prototypes to aid game development.</li><li>Conceive game users’ experience by charting the user journey with sketches and conceptual diagrams.</li><li>Conceive the game’s gameplay and core mechanics based on the approved concept.</li><li>Conduct training for game testers to understand the final objectives of the game.</li><li>Create designs for the game’s user interface and interaction scenarios based on user experience and creative vision.</li><li>Create the full game design to clearly identify aspects of the game that may impact gameplay.</li><li>Define the broad user experience as part of the game concept.</li><li>Detail specific aspects of the game concept to be presented to the creative management team.</li><li>Develop scenarios to resolve possible design issues surfaced during game development.</li><li>Document game concept to be approved by the management.</li><li>Guide the Technical Development team in interpreting game designs.</li><li>Guide the team in the creation, analysis and improvement of new game features, virtual economy and balance of game mechanics.</li><li>Lead discussions on specific aspects of the game concept design.</li><li>Manage the amendments made to game mechanics while taking note of entertainment, challenge and player engagement.</li><li>Participate in continuous review of game production.</li><li>Provide inputs to the development of the game content, graphics, sound, as well as other technical components.</li><li>Provide insights to anticipate technical or workflow issues, and recommend solutions.</li><li>Recommend changes to original game specifications to reflect technical constraints and new programming or artistic developments.</li><li>Refine designs based on feedback from game testers.</li><li>Track feedback to plan for upcoming changes to the game design.</li></ul><p><br></p>
