<strong><u>Job Description</u></strong><p><br></p><strong>Key Accountabilities:</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Verify the safe execution of welding activities onsite, Check machine/man and material.</li><li>Read specifications, work list and pre-planning job (Sequence of job, manpower, equipment).</li><li>Develop & review project risk analysis</li><li>Develop work plan.</li><li>Review prefabrication drawings and allocate applicable WPS.</li><li>Monitor welding execution and define alternate process to save cost and time if any</li><li>Attend training for activity required by the department.</li><li>Ensure that welding supervision are fully in compliance with the ITP and WT requirement, Welding consumable procedure and equipment in use are validated.</li><li>Ensure that all welding supervision are complying with DDWD ISO 3834- 2 manual annex 1 procedure.</li><li>Develop detailed completion program with manpower loading.</li><li>Review Dimension Control / Fit up inspections reports and guide the team for necessary proceedings to give the best fit for welding.</li><li>Co-ordination of work progress with Project Manager, Owners representatives, Other trades and within the department.</li><li>Develop / review manpower request and target report prepared by foreman.</li><li>Provide work done reports and descriptions to Invoicers / Estimators.</li><li>Report work progress.</li><li>Liaise with department planning section for Productivity measurements as applicable</li><li>Maintain Project file up-to-date as directed with all supporting documents.</li><li>Proactive participation in identifying errors and effective reporting through NCIR system</li><li>Train, motivate, appraise and provide feedback on training requirements to uplift the skill of subordinates.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Experience/ Qualifications & Skills</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Diploma in engineering or equivalent.</li><li>Training in NDT /Quality control.</li><li>Familiarity with welding works with at least 5 to 10 years of experience as Foreman or Lead position.</li><li>Knowledge of NDE / NDT techniques.</li><li>CSWIP 3.1or AWS certificate as welding inspector will be considered as an added advantage</li><li>Knowledge and understanding of special welding procedures</li><li>Knowledge and understanding of stress relieving processes</li><li>Basic knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials</li><li>Knowledge and Experience in ship repair and new building yard.</li><li>Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures, specifications, drawings, and other discipline related project and engineering documentation.</li><li>Very good knowledge in technical terms and report writing skills.</li><li>Good knowledge of English languages.</li><li>Knowledge of other languages will be an added advantage.</li></ul>
