Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

We’re seeking a senior FITOUT Estimator with UAE FITOUT experience. Experience in estimation, quantity surveying and being able to produce the BOQ from the ID drawings and identify the best market pricing for supplies. The Senior Estimator is responsible for taking a tender from start through to finalization. Acknowledges the tender, books in the tender documents and checks the documents for missing scope. Marks up the enquiries to be sent out for quotation and ensures this is done quickly.

JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cost estimation and planning for the pre-tender stage
  • Tender document and Bill of Quantities preparation for tender projects.
  • Assisting with manufacturing feasibility studies and estimates, ranging from basic design information to thorough cost estimates.
  • Working with clients and consultants.
  • Evaluation of tenders and negotiations with contractors
  • Collaborating closely with suppliers and clients to optimize operations and minimize costs when projects are completed.
  • Collaboration between the project manager and the site.
  • Inputs the BOQ and sets up the job ready to price.
  • Contacts the key supply chain contractors to discuss the project and any technical issues.
  • Carries out bulk measures checks and picks up any scope missing in the BOQ and ensures this is incorporated into the price.
  • Visits site and carries out a site report summary of access/egress.
  • Finalizes the price and submit the tender on time. Organizes, coordinates and manages required staff resources to complete estimate report deliverables.
  • Acts as chief interface with client and related project team members and plans for scope of the project based on client expectations, requirements and requested deliverable formats.
  • Provides guidance to all staff involved in estimate and compiles, issues and follows up on RFIs to the project team in order to resolve technical questions related to the estimate.
  • Reviews project financials including Project Status Report (PSR); updates financials monthly and identifies any potential issues to manager for review and action.
  • Reviews deliverables for completeness and provides overall quality assurance check prior to issuance of report.
  • Analyzes drawings and other documents and prepares detailed cost estimates.
  • Obtains accurate and up to date pricing information for databases, contractors, suppliers, etc. to utilize in estimates.
  • Inputs estimate take-off information for specific discipline and develops unit cost pricing.
  • Works with architects and engineers to develop clear understanding of project scope preparation of estimate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field, plus four years relevant management experience.
  • 6+ years of estimating experience as Fit Out Estimator in UAE.
  • Must be highly articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and strong decision-making abilities.
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of commercially available construction cost estimating system.
  • Working knowledge of electronic take-off including CAD Measure and Primavera.
  • Good record in tender estimation with high success rate.
  • Excellent communication skills, well organized, and accurate.
  • Having strong connections and relationships with local suppliers and subcontractors.
