Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Field troubleshooting, including analysis of problems / recommendation & implementation of appropriate solutions, meeting with customers in plant or at customer’s site to resolve satisfactorily.
  • Visit customer sites for technical measurement, seal installation and commissioning.
  • Detailed failure analysis activities, including investigation / reporting / resolution.
  • Detailed technical presentations to customers in order to support sales or drive root cause analysis exercises.
  • Manage and report personal workload, forecast job lead-times to meet customer and departmental objectives.
  • Responsible for the management of the service centre operations – order management, seal refurbishment, SAP functions (quote to invoice process), warehouse management, quality assurance etc.
  • Support the stock control and inventory management functions for both contractual and transactional stock holding to ensure accurate and optimum stock levels are achieved to meet lead time targets.
  • Provide support to the service centre technician as & when required for seal repairs, technical evaluations and engineering solutions.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Responsible for all the service centre related KPIs and ensure compliance with the contract specification or deliverables. Identify areas for improvement and then drive appropriate actions to improve overall performance and customer satisfaction thereby targeting to achieve operational excellence.
  • Provide on-site coverage during leave or absence of either of the full-time MRP reliability engineers.
  • Compile & manage service and service centre performance reports through performance data analysis.
  • Work in line with John Crane standards, procedures and policies
  • Ensures quality & safety within functions/ tasks performed by himself/herself and staff reporting to him/her
  • Responsible for exercising due diligence towards health & safety of self and others within the organization
  • Ensures compliance with the applicable HSE instructions, requirements, laws and regulations received from customers, regulatory and statutory bodies

The Individual

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education/Training

University degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.

Experience

5+  years of professional experience in engineering and service

Experience working in refinery rotating equipment / maintenance.

Knowledge/Skills

Engineering knowledge in a proactive multinational and multicultural environment.

A strong technical knowledge of John Crane product portfolio

Ability to carry out failure analysis and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

Excellent knowledge and use of measuring instrumentation

Familiarisation & use of SAP
