They are what we believe, what customers can expect, and how we deliver.<br><br><strong><u>Project Description<br><br></u></strong>NEOM Project Summary: Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company will provide executive project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial, and construction management) for the development of certain defined aspects of the NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt, Israel, and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq. mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.”NEOM will be the home and workplace to more than a million residents from around the world. It will include towns and cities, ports and enterprise zones, research centers, sports and entertainment venues, and tourist destinations. As a hub for innovation, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and companies will come to research, incubate, and commercialize new technologies and enterprises in groundbreaking ways.<br><br><strong><u>Position Summary<br><br></u></strong>Responsible for integration of environmental issues and requirements into project level documents under the direction of the Environmental Manager, including permit applications, design specifications and criteria, construction plans and schedules, bid specifications, and subcontract packages for the Project. Has technical responsibility for interpreting complex requirements, evaluating and applying appropriate scientific/environmental engineering principles, and formulating scopes of work, plans, and methodologies suitable for achieving and maintaining compliance with environmental requirements. Provides technical assistance to other ES&H and Sustainability personnel assigned to the Project.<br><br><strong>Role Purpose<br></strong><ul><li> Assists in coordinating with NEOM Environment Department and Standards & Compliance Department- ensuring project delivery is in accordance with the NEOM requirements.</li><li> Assists in Developing Project Dept environmental policies, plans and procedures and monitor projects Delivery compliance with these requirements.</li><li> Assists SEGM (Projects representative for Sustainability) with delivery strategy and implementation<br></li></ul><strong><u>Essential Job Duties<br></u></strong><ul><li> Receives supervision and work assignments from the Environmental Manager.</li><li> Assists in developing and managing the implementation of the Bechtel scope of Project services related environmental management program, including the key execution documents – Environmental Management Plan, Environmental Monitoring Plan, Environmental Emergency Preparedness Plan, Competence/Training, and project specific mitigation procedures that are compliant with ISO 14001. These plans will also be in accordance with Infrastructure GBU Environmental Management System (EMS), project contract requirements, and international financial institution lender requirements.</li><li> Participates in meetings with customer, project team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them of environmental requirements that may affect project design, schedule, and cost.</li><li> Provides technical support and assistance directly to construction supervision and subcontractors in planning and executing field activities in accordance with the project environmental requirements.</li><li> Conducts environmental compliance inspections of project construction activities to monitor compliance with environmental requirements including contractual commitments, EIA, permits, and the project’s CESMP.</li><li> Carries out audits of environmental compliance implementation by the delivery packages (compliance with contract, CESMP, EIA & EMS).</li><li> Prepares scopes of work for environmental subcontractors and oversees their tasks and work products.</li><li> Tracks environmental compliance with approved plans, laws/regulations, permits, and contract requirements.</li><li> Prepares sustainability documentation as appropriate for the project and its location</li><li> Under the direction of the Environmental Manager, is responsible for drafting environmental awareness training programs and inspection reports.<br></li></ul><strong><u>Health, Safety & Environment – Personal Commitment<br></u></strong><ul><li> Take personal responsibility to ensure your own and others’ health and safety – including those who may be affected by the delivery of this role.</li><li> Cooperate in all matters relating to health, safety and environment, including following safe working procedures at all times and not deviating from agreed safe system of work.</li><li> Advocate, promote and engage Project’s health, safety and environmental policies and initiatives.<br></li></ul><strong><u>Job Qualifications<br></u></strong><ul><li> A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university or college in an applicable technical discipline such as environmental science, ecology, biology, natural resources, or environmental engineering (or related discipline) and 8+ years of related experience. </li><li> Advanced knowledge in a field of science, environmental engineering, or related discipline. </li><li> Advanced knowledge of environmental management, mitigation and monitoring in the construction industry. </li><li> Knowledge of engineering and construction systems, methods, and work processes. </li><li> Demonstrated experience in national and international environmental laws/regulations and regulatory/resource agencies’ permitting processes and responsibilities, industry standards for environmental compliance, and best management practices for minimizing potential environmental impacts during project execution. </li><li> Knowledge of IFC Performance Standards and World Bank EHS Guidelines, and Saudi Arabia PME General Environment Regulations and Rules for Implementation. </li><li> Experience in supervising and/or providing technical oversight of environmental subcontractors or consultants. </li><li> Experience in environmental assessment (ESIA) development and design on large or complex infrastructure /engineering projects. </li><li> Experience in environmental monitoring and compliance inspection during construction. </li><li> Knowledge of hazardous materials and waste management, erosion and sediment control methods, and habitat restoration techniques. </li><li> Knowledge and experience with ISO 14001 Management System standards, and auditor certification for ISO 14001. </li><li> Possesses advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD) in fields of science, engineering, design or business management and/or possesses environmental-related certifications from national/international accrediting organizations/associations, e.g., IEMA. </li><li> Must be able to work overtime and adapt to changing work schedules. </li><li> Adaptable and able to work outdoors in a field environment under various project site and weather conditions. </li><li> Advanced proficiency in MS Office, and a good understanding of GIS. </li><li> Skilled in oral and written communication.
