In Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) which is a part of the Assurance service line, we support our clients with their finance, accounting, regulatory and reporting challenges. We address the CFO’s agenda and provide CFOs, controllers, treasurers, and senior finance leaders with the insight and services to support compliance with evolving financial reporting requirements in this age of disruption. EY works with some of the largest clients in the region, including multinational corporates, government departments, state owned entities and large family-owned conglomerates, providing services relating to the delivery of projects or programs, throughout all stages of the lifecycle.<p><br></p>The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of Capital Projects, with specific focus on the construction sector. In this role you will be expected to support complex and multi-disciplinary projects, provide insights to our client(s) on leading industry practices and benchmarks.<p><br></p>We’re looking for ambitious people to help drive and support this change while learning about the intricacies of dealing with diverse clients in a challenging yet rewarding environment.<p><br></p><strong>Your Key Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p>In this exciting new role as <strong>a </strong><strong>Senior Consultant /Assistant Manager,</strong> you will support business development of our <strong>Capital Projects </strong>solution.<p><br></p><ul><li>This will involve collaborating with Directors, Senior Managers, Managers and our clients to determine a roadmap to securing engagements and delivering added value to those clients. </li><li>In delivering mandates you will participate in client-facing engagements, and ensure that the engagement team understands the client’s needs and expectations and the work product is client-focused, clear, accurate and well-presented.</li><li>The role will also involve ensuring work is delivered in a timely manner, and is in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal Quality &amp; Risk Management (“QRM”) protocols, and significantly delivers the highest quality work product amongst professional services firms. </li><li>You may be working with other service lines in providing an integrated service delivery and you will be expected to ensure quality standards are commensurate across the delivery team, whilst also monitoring the Capital Projects engagement team’s performance against the budget. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Skills And Attributes For Success</strong><p><br></p>Pro-activity, accountability and results-driven people will flourish in this environment. This will have a huge impact on those around you and help promote a positive work ethic.<p><br></p><strong>To qualify for the role, you must have</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>A bachelor’s degree and approximately four plus years of related work experience in construction projects, including spending efficiency, project audits, project procurement, project management or professional advisory.</li><li>An undergraduate or master’s degree in engineering and/or other appropriate academic major relevant to Capital Projects </li><li>Understanding of the construction process, including delivery of services at all stages of the project lifecycle</li><li>Strong understanding of construction costs and/or construction schedules / programs</li><li>Strong understanding of CAPEX spending efficiency and ability to deliver mandates of this nature</li><li>Ability and comfort level in researching client inquires and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies</li><li>Awareness of industry events, latest trends, project awards and competitor positioning </li><li>Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Ideally, you’ll also have</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Track record with a leading consulting firm in the MENA region </li><li>Proficiency in the Arabic language</li></ul><p><br></p><strong>What We Look For</strong><p><br></p>We are interested in entrepreneurs who have the confidence to develop and promote a brand new service solution both internally and externally.
