Job Description

Reports to the Manager – Structural/civil Engineering
2. Main assignments
Description of the Role
– Responsible for the delivery of the quality structural engineering services to Socotec clients.
– Responsible for ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with relevant instructions
– Comply with SOCOTEC’s group policies and procedures
– Achieve and maintain the highest qualification levels determined by SOCOTEC for the relevant consultancy disciplines
Main Tasks
– Proceed with the review of documents according to the level of checking designated by the Management
– Filter and select the applicable requirements verify that evidences are justified in the Design Package under review.
– Insure compliance with standards, best practice, codes, regulations, etc…
– Give a proven technical opinion to the submitted calculation notes and elements subject to the technical review
– Elaborate and submit document review reports.
Health and Safety Responsibilities
– To comply with Socotec International and client quality, safety and environmental systems and procedures at all times.
– Ensure that all accidents, incidents, near misses or hazards are immediately reported and relevant paperwork is completed.
– To work within the team to develop a culture where everyone embraces, upholds and accepts responsibility for a safe workplace, a healthy working life, a sustainable environment and the right and duty to intervene.
Qualifications
– Degree qualified in civil engineering – Specialty: buildings structures
– Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Design Consultancy office.
– Experienced in international codes notably ACI and IBC codes; Knowledge of the Saudi code SBC is a plus.
– Registered at the Lebanese Order of Engineers.
