Job Description
The Senior Business Analyst’s role is primarily responsible for analyzing business information. The role develops and operates data analytical models to support business requirements. This includes understanding business requirements, developing corresponding data analytical models, mapping them to data available in native systems, and supporting business managers to extract intelligence from these data models. The person will also develop administrative proficiency in the IT systems that support business operations. The ideal candidate will possess a healthy interest in business processes and be competent in prioritizing work with little supervision. They will be self-motivated and trustworthy.
Objective:
- Fully appreciate the business processes and workflow, business information requirements, and support management to make effective data-based decisions.
- Extract, structure, model & analyze data in an innovative manner.
- Develop proficiency in the information systems that support the business, from a workflow, data and administrative standpoint.
- Aid strategic decision-making for new and/or system upgrades.
- To be detail-oriented, and able to follow through on assigned tasks.
- Able to handle stressful situations well and be proficient in document control.
Responsibilities
- Capture business requirements from time to time, from Provision staff, in order to perform data analysis.
- Extract relevant business data from multiple Provision systems/applications.
- Provide quality assurance of imported data.
- Process confidential data and information.
- Normalize and de-normalize data where necessary.
- Develop reports and analysis: Develop and maintain data analytical models on MS-Excel that are business-user friendly.
- Manage and design the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
- Support IT systems supporting business operations, administratively.
- Evaluate and implement new or upgraded software and assist with strategic decisions on new systems.
- Train end-users on new reports and dashboards.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a Data Analytics specialization, Computer Applications, Engineering or relevant combination of education, professional certifications, experience and/or technical background in data analysis.
- MUST be an MS Excel Guru with 3-5 years’ experience in preparing MS-Excel data models and analyzing business data. Master’s degrees with lower work experience will be considered. Advanced Level MS Excel Certification is desirable.
- MUST HAVE advanced level expertise in Power Pivot, Power BI, Power Query.
- Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases
- Ability to work with stakeholders in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work independently in a time sensitive environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentially is mandatory.
- Ability to communicate clearly, timely, and accurately.
- Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines.
