Safety Engineer
Job Description
<p>The safety engineer will develop procedures and design systems to protect people from illness, injury, and property damage. This position will supervise project safety personnel, monitor site conditions and industry initiatives in this area, introducing the best and most successful practices in the company.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Comply with the GCC IMS Policy, IMS Manual and EOHS-MS (45001:2018 & 14001:2015) requirements, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, rules in force in the UAE. </li><li>Develop a Safety Plan and Supervision of proper and correct application of the Safety Plan items relevant to the worksite.</li><li>Develop site related plans, EHS procedures and implementation, supervision, review as it required. </li><li> Identify site emergency situations and prepare emergency plans, emergency evacuation plans and conduct mock drills as per requirements. </li><li> Analyze site activities and Identify hazards, risks and determine the precautionary control measures. Preparation of Hazard identification and risk assessment for all activities. </li><li> Develop, review and update legal regulatory register and monitoring of legal compliance. </li><li> Allocate EHS Officers as per requirement and guide them as well. </li><li> Preparation of TBT plans, training plans and ensure they are conducting as per planed. </li><li> Implement Permit to work system. </li><li> Documentation preparation and submission as per consultant or client requirements like plans, methodology, (Monthly / weekly) reports, Observations reports and safety meeting agenda preparation and arrangements. Comply with consultant or client audit compliance and responsible to close the non-conformity with adequate corrective actions. </li><li> Participate and evaluate Sub-contractors and Suppliers EHS performance.</li><li>Monitoring the project site EHS performance and improve the safety culture in the site. </li><li> Report EHS observations to project manager and follow-up the corrective actions in workplace. </li><li> Conduct EHS Committee meetings. </li><li> Raising Non-conformity for major EHS sub-standard conditions or act to the concern department and evaluate the corrective actions implementation. </li><li>Conduct general safety inspections during site visits.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><span>Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, an environmental discipline (science or engineering), and/or another engineering discipline from a recognized and accredited program.</span></li><li><span>An advanced degree is preferred</span></li><li><span>Minimum of 5 years’ experience in health and safety</span></li><li><span>Minimum of 3 years </span><span>experience in Middle East or UAE</span></li><li>Should Be Certificates in (NEBOSH, IOSH etc.)</li></ul><span></span>
