Job Description
Rides engineer responsible is to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the Miral Experiences Leisure Facilities in the Technical Services Rides Department in relation to the Company Core Process; thus directly impacting on the maintenance of rides, facilities and attractions.
This position applies a working knowledge of engineering fundamentals to the division’s engineering activities under the direction of Rides Management team, required to interact with other personnel to provide project-related engineering support including those in QA, Installation, and Procurement. It involves the design, production support, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of ride systems.
Job Scope:
- Maintain, erect, repair and troubleshoot various theme park rides and attractions as directed.
- Execute efficient preventive maintenance program and identify the causes of malfunctions.
- Perform visual inspections of assigned rides and attractions as necessary and will be able to train junior staff for inspections as necessary.
- Remove, install, repair and test all electromechanical equipment of rides, animation and attractions.
- Perform other maintenance functions and assists other colleagues as needed by supervision.
- Independently performs difficult engineering tasks to completion that may include a variety of complex features, conflicting design requirements, unusual materials requirements, and the need to coordinate the work of others.
- Provide feedback and technical perspective into the design during the design phase reviews.
- Perform assembly, integration, factory testing, and maintenance/repairs on equipment/systems within his or her area of expertise in accordance with appropriate standards and procedures and in accordance with appropriate Safety Standards
As an ideal candidate, you must have:
- Technical Diploma or Degree to related field
- Working knowledge of industrial control products to include:
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC),
- Servo and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD),
- Human Machine Interface (HMI) Panels,
- Networking equipment (wired and wireless),
- Analog, Digital and Serial devices.
- 3+ years’ direct hands-on experience in the area of expertise (mechanical, electro-hydraulic, electrical/electronic)
- 3+ years’ experience with equipment significantly similar to amusement attraction.
- Should possess practical skill and proficient knowledge in two or more trades, such as: mechanical, electrical, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding and small combustion engine repair and maintenance.
- Solid understanding of hardware, bolted connections, and torque.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in all aspects of the area of expertise.
- Strong testing and troubleshooting skills with the ability to think “outside the box”.
