Join us and let’s get started.<br> <br><strong>Job Description<br></strong> <br>Job Summary<br> <br>AECOM is seeking Resident Engineer for sewerage network projects to be based on site in Bahrain. The Resident Engineer (RE) will lead the site team and is responsible for managing the services’ scope to ensure that the site activities are executed by following the construction documents and specifications and in compliance with Ministry of Works requirements.<br> <br><strong>Job Duties<br></strong> <ul><li>Reporting to the Senior Resident Engineer (SRE) or the Manager – Civil Construction, the Resident Engineer (RE) will lead the site team and is responsible for managing the services’ scope to ensure that the site activities are executed by following the construction documents and specifications.</li> <li>The RE will liaise with all relevant Authorities and the Client in regards to site-related requirements.</li> <li>The RE is responsible for developing strong client relationships to secure new opportunities and additional work.</li> <li>The RE will have overall accountability for all activities within site, both in terms of the staff and the management of the Contractor’s Contract.</li> <li>Supervises quality assurance inspection staff and sub-consultants to verify the work is performed in compliance with the plans and specifications;</li> <li>Assumes the role of the Engineer’s Delegate in administering the Contract Administration.</li> <li>Monitors and assumes responsibility for the safety of AECOM’s Staff and Contractors.</li> <li>Coordinates and communicates with the Client, Authorities and Contractor’s personnel.</li> <li>Processes daily project documentation and construction observations.</li> <li>Prepares, issues and tracks Contractor’s Non-Conformance reports.</li> <li>Reviews Inspectors’ and Sub-consultants’ Daily Work Reports.</li> <li>Prepares correspondence to the Contractor and Client.</li> <li>Expedites approval permits with Authorities in case of delays.</li> <li>Leads Weekly Progress Meetings with the Client, Contractor and other team members.</li> <li>Maintains project documents by following Company and Client requirements.</li> <li>Negotiates Change Orders with the Contractor on behalf of the Client.</li> <li>Makes recommendations to the Client for Change Order acceptance.</li> <li>Reviews and Approves Contractor’s monthly invoice submittals, including the quantity of work completed and associated value.</li> <li>Prepares and reviews monthly project status updates.</li> <li>Supervises and trains the Assistant Resident Engineer and the inspector of works</li> <li>Liaises with Head Office for resource planning throughout the project.</li> <li>Checks and certifies progress payments to the Client.</li> <li>Checks personnel, equipment and material costs for all Variation Orders and Changes Orders required under the Contract terms.</li> <li>Reviews requests for additional compensation and time extensions.</li> <li>Prepares Variation Orders for all ‘Additional’ and ‘New’ works.</li> <li>Prepares the Monthly Report.</li> <li>Monitors overall site safety by monitoring activities, meetings, reviews, safety violations, rectification measures, and accident reports are included in the Monthly Progress Report.</li> <li>When necessary, determines the true cost of additions or credits due to the Client and recommends appropriate action.</li> <li>Inspects safety conditions and informs the Clients of construction safety violations and follow up action to be taken.</li> <li>Manages the project team and assumes all people management responsibilities such as daily timekeeping, performance management, annual performance review and the development and mentoring of staff.</li> <li>Should know FIDIC based contracts or equivalent.</li> <li>Has a sound understanding of Technical Specifications.</li> <li>Performs other duties assigned by the Manager.</li> <br></ul><strong>Specific Skills Required<br></strong> <ul><li>Having relevant experience in supervising sewerage network, micro-tunnelling, sewage pumping station and other relevant sewage works</li> <li>Have working knowledge in supervising works as applicable</li> <li>Management experience with the ability to lead a team and communicate and interact with all other building disciplines</li> <li>Client coordination</li> <li>Reporting and communication skills</li> <br></ul><strong>Person Specification</strong> <strong>(Behavioral Attributes)<br></strong> <ul><li>Must be pro-active, adaptable and a motivated team player.</li> <li>Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.</li> <li>Must be a self-starter and possess leadership qualities</li> <li>Able to set priorities and meeting critical time deadlines</li> <li>Able to interface with both clients and other inter-office discipline at a senior level</li> <br></ul><strong>Experience<br></strong> <ul><li>Minimum 140 years of experience in civil engineering/sewerage network projects</li> <li>Minimum of 5-10 years experience in Middle East preferred</li> <br></ul><strong>Additional Comments<br></strong> <br>This is project specific opportunity for 24 months and depending on future requirements the appointment could be extended to wider projects in the region.<br> <br><strong>Qualifications<br></strong> <ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field</li> <li>MSC in Engineering, PMI/PMP preferred</li> <br></ul><strong>Additional
