As one of the largest engineering consultants, we have access to 17,000 staff in the Middle East making us one of the largest multidisciplinary consultancies in the region<br><br><strong>Job Title: Resident Engineer (Building and Infrastructure)<br><br></strong><strong>Job Description</strong>: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resident Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. As a Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction and maintenance of various building and infrastructure projects. Your primary role will be to ensure that the projects are completed within the specified budget, timeline, and quality standards.<br><br><strong><u>Responsibilities<br></u></strong><ul><li>Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout all stages of the construction process.</li><li>Manage and supervise construction activities, including contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.</li><li>Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and building codes.</li><li>Review and approve construction drawings, materials, and other technical submissions.</li><li>Coordinate with project managers, architects, and other professionals to resolve any technical issues or conflicts.</li><li>Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports on construction status, highlighting any deviations from the plan.</li><li>Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and site records.</li><li>Ensure that the construction site is safe and implement appropriate safety measures.</li><li>Conduct quality control inspections and address any deficiencies or non-compliance with standards.</li><li>Provide technical support during the procurement process, including evaluating bids and selecting contractors.<br></li></ul><strong><u>Requirements<br></u></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree would be an advantage.</li><li>Proven 15 – 20 years experience as a Resident Engineer in building and infrastructure projects, preferably in Abu Dhabi or the UAE.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and industry standards.</li><li>Familiarity with project management principles and practices. Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.</li><li>Familiarity with relevant software and tools used in construction management.</li><li>Professional certifications or memberships related to construction and engineering would be a plus.</li><li>Fluent in English.
