<p>Job Summary</p><p> The R&D Manager will be responsible for managing the research and development of new products and more efficient manufacturing techniques. </p><p> </p><p><strong> </strong>Major Duties and Responsibilities</p><p>► Participate in the development and update of Industrial Sector’s strategic direction, goals and objectives.</p><p>► Participate in the development of Industrial Sector’s business plan and ensure that all activities within the R&D department are aligned with it.</p><p>► Participate in the development of Industrial Sector’s annual budget and maintain costs and expenditures within the set budget.</p><p>► Oversee and supervise the implementation of the strategic initiatives, as applicable, and communicate the strategy and initiatives to all individuals within the department. </p><p>► Direct the development of the departments’ guidelines, policies and procedures and ensure its implementation across all departments while ensuring compliance with the industrial sector strategic goals and objectives.</p><p>► Establish formal and informal communication lines across the departments to allow prompt identification and resolution of problems that impede achievement of strategic goals.</p><p>► Assist in market research to identify the synthesis material to adapt to Industrial Sector’s portfolio.</p><p>► Analyze the production line dynamics and research improved techniques and machinery for making the production line more robust and efficient.</p><p>► Analyze and suggest new products development and specification.</p><p>► Monitor and track new developments in the market place. </p><p>► Oversee the quality of products testing through the laboratory.</p><p>► Ensure that unique product specifications are met for each project.</p><p><br></p><p> <strong> </strong></p><p>Managerial</p><p>► Provide advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to department personnel to carry out human resource function and procedures, consistent with established policies. Ensure effective and efficient flow of work and ensure all employees understand their role in the department.</p><p>► Communicate and discuss the department’s guidelines and procedures with employees to ensure responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities are defined and understood.</p><p>► Delegate relevant responsibilities to achieve operation in the department. </p><p>► Provide guidance and leadership to all department employees to ensure effective and efficient flow of work, and ensure all employees recognize their fundamental role in the department.</p><p>► Initiate and manage the annual performance appraisal to review employees’ work performance. </p><p>► Recommend salary adjustments, rewards and promotions based on employee performance.
