Job Description
The Center for Smart Engineering Materials (CSEM), New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Research Associate to work on the chemical and structural characterization of organic scale from crude oil, as well as testing precipitation and deposition behavior of organic scale under a variety of chemical and environmental conditions.
The Research Associate will support the Centerβs goal of developing smart and sustainable solutions to the requirement for smart materials for sensing and diagnostics in the oil/gas sector of the UAE. The Center has access to facilities for advanced characterization instrumentation for this project such as FT-ICR, QCMD, DNP, NMR, MS, and high-pressure/high-temperature QCMD. It is open for collaboration with researchers with a background in basic research to investigate new opportunities for the early detection of scaling problems in oil wells. The specialty of this research project is petroleomics/production chemistry. The Research Associate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
Applicants must have at least a M.Sc. in Chemistry, Geochemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
