The Research Assistant will be responsible to identify and clone LEA2 genes from native plants such as Prosopis cineraria, Cenchrus ciliaris, desert squash, etc. After subcloning the cloned LEA2 genes into the His-tag expression vector, large-scale production of the recombinant proteins in E. coli has to be performed. Ultimately, the purified recombinant proteins will be tested for their heat protection and thermostability, and activity of some industrial enzymes.

Minimum Qualification

The successful candidate must have at least a Master’s degree in Horticulture/environmental science to carry out the project tasks.
