<p><strong>Job overview:</strong></p><p><span>This is a part-time role (25 hours/week) which is mostly remote. It is a personal assistant role and is not affiliated with any university.</span></p><p><span>In the research assistant role, you will mainly assist in the research process by collecting experimental and theoretical data and preparing manuscripts. A key element in this role is adhering to procedures and protocols provided by primary researchers. Success in this role is demonstrated by the successful and timely completion of all research and documents. In the teaching assistant role, you will assist with teaching materials as requested.</span></p><p> </p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p><span>Conduct literature reviews, research experiments, and simulations.</span></p><p><span>Request or acquire equipment or supplies necessary for the project.</span></p><p><span>Analyzes data and summarizes results.</span></p><p><span>Prepare materials for submission to granting agencies and foundations.</span></p><p><span>Fact checks and proofreads manuscripts.</span></p><p><span>Generates graphs and spreadsheets to portray results.</span></p><p><span>Write and contribute to publications.</span></p><p><span>Prepare articles, reports, presentations, and teaching materials.</span></p><p><span>Supervising research projects.</span></p><p><span>Attending project meetings.</span></p><p><span>Field visits to collect and record data and conduct experiments.</span></p><p><span>Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.</span></p><p> </p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p><span>Senior student or bachelor’s degree in engineering (Petroleum) or related field of research.</span></p><p><span>Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.</span></p><p><span>Strong time-management skills.</span></p><p><span>Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.</span></p><p><span>Knowledge of research methods.</span></p><p><span>Prior experience in research preferred.</span></p><p><span>Excellent technical and analytical skills.</span></p><p><span>Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.</span></p><p><span>Knowledge in Microsoft Visio and Latex is a plus.</span></p><p><span>Knowledge in Reservoir simulation software (Schlumberger Eclipse, CMG, and Petrel) is preferred.</span></p><p><span>Access to a PC/Laptop with the required research software.</span></p><p> </p><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p><span>Gaining skills and knowledge that is not learned in the classroom.</span></p><p><span>Developing a mentoring relationship.</span></p><p><span>May get authorship and/or recognition in different publications.</span></p><p><span>Flexible working hours and mostly remote.</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p><span>For interested applicants, send your CV with a cover letter to kamelbh@live.com.</span></p>
